ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Accounting Manager to join our fully remote, fast-growing international digital marketing agency. Reporting to the US Group Assistant Controller, this role will manage a small team, oversee the revenue, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger reconciliation process for one US based line of business and ensure timely processing of commissions for our sales and client services teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp and Excel, and a solid understanding of global accounting practices.

To be considered, candidates must currently reside and be eligible to work in the United States. This is a fully remote role with flexible working hours to collaborate across time zones.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Oversight
    • Oversee accounts receivable operations, including invoicing, cash application, aging management, and customer‑level reconciliations.
    • Monitor AR aging, identify collection risks, and drive timely resolution of overdue balances.
    • Prepare and review AR‑related reporting weekly.
    • Establish and enforce AR policies, approval thresholds, and escalation processes.
    • Review and approve vendor bills for the related line of business ensuring the accuracy of the account coding and related client information
  • Billing & Invoicing
    • Supervise the end‑to‑end billing lifecycle processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing across client contracts and billing models.
    • Partner closely with Client Services and Sales to ensure billing aligns with contractual terms and service delivery.
    • Resolve billing disputes, credits, and adjustments in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Commission‑Related Billing & Revenue Support
    • Prepare the monthly commission calculation and quarter end true-ups, ensuring commission data aligns with billed revenue.
    • Partner with Sales Operations, Client Services, and Finance to reconcile commissions and billing adjustments.
    • Calculate variable Paid Media management fees monthly.
    • Support commission inquiries, corrections, and reconciliation as needed.
  • Systems & Integrations
    • Leverage NetSuite as the system of record for AR, billing, and reporting accuracy.
    • Ensure clean data flow from Salesforce into NetSuite to support billing and commissions.
    • Oversee AR‑related workflows including customer credits, change orders , and reconciliation of Salesforce to NetSuite.
  • Month‑End Close & Reporting
    • Oversee the month‑end and year‑end close activities related to accounts receivable, accrued and deferred revenue, and paid media.
    • Review and prepare revenue reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations for the line of business .
    • Monthly reconciliations of customer pre-paid and passthrough accounts.
  • Audit & Internal Controls
    • Support internal and external audits by providing revenue and expense documentation as needed and requested
    • Ensure adherence to internal controls and documented procedures.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Manage and mentor a team of AR and billing professionals, providing clear expectations, coaching, and performance feedback.
    • Allocate work effectively to ensure coverage, accuracy, and timely execution across billing cycles.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth‑oriented team culture.
  • Process Improvement & Scaling
    • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline AR and billing processes, automate workflows, and improve system integrations.
    • Lead initiatives to improve billing accuracy and enhance cash‑flow predictability as the business scales.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience at a public accounting firm is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP system.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for sales commission management and data integration.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and general accounting best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across internal and international teams.
  • Previous experience in a remote-first environment supervising teams across multiple time zones.
  • Experience working in a Digital Marketing or SaaS business model.
  • Strong understanding of multi-currency consolidations and foreign exchange accounting.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a remote work setting.

ABOUT THE COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: USD $110,000.00 to $125,000.00; depending on experience and skills
  • Discretionary annual bonus: Up to 10% of annual salary
