Job Description: 

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), based in East Hartford, Connecticut, is looking for a Data Science & Analytics expert to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru, India. This role will be responsible for the development, deployment, and support of innovative machine learning and statistical models that provide forecasting, prediction, and prescriptive solutions, which can be seamlessly embedded into our software and workflows. These solutions will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually advance the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and overhauls, reducing the cost and time required for maintaining our parts, components, and engines. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Collaborate with engineering organization leads to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities for leveraging data science and analytics to enhance operations and drive the long-term DMRO roadmap. 

Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions using DMRO (Digital Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) data to provide actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making. Oversee the creation of Power BI dashboards to deliver impactful insights for the MRO network. 

Provide technical leadership in defining, prototyping, testing, deploying, and monitoring complex machine learning and statistical models to deliver high-impact predictions and forecasts. 

Drive cross-functional collaboration by aligning teams, fostering an environment of innovation, and leading the identification and execution of high-value continuous improvement initiatives. 

Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 

Lead and manage multiple high-priority projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, on-time delivery, and adherence to quality standards. Utilize agile/scrum practices to guide team dynamics and project execution. 

Mentor and develop senior engineers and other team members by providing technical guidance, fostering professional growth, and ensuring knowledge transfer within the team. 

Take ownership of complex technical challenges and serve as the escalation point for critical issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution. 

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree (with 10+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 8+ year experience) in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics 

6+ years of experience building machine learning/statistical models 

3+ years of experience in SQL or Databricks 

3+ year of experience in developing solution architecture 

Proficiency in machine learning tools and programming languages such as Python. 

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Familiarity with agile practices, including sprint, scrum, and PI ceremonies, and their application in project execution.  

Demonstrates excellent judgment and professional maturity. 

Quick learner with a creative problem-solving mindset  

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience in aerospace domain. 

Experience with Databricks 

Experience developing PowerBI dashboards 

Familiarity with agile practices and the role of a Scrum Master 

Proven ability to bridge the gap between technical expertise and business needs.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
