  • Support marketing and market development initiatives; participate in trade shows; provide written reports and deliver quarterly business reviews; participate in annual sales forecasting

Job description

We are looking for an Area Sales Manager to cover the New England region of our North America sales organization. The Area Sales Manager owns the full sales lifecycle for assigned accounts, identifies new business opportunities, and works cross‑functionally to deliver technical solutions that meet customer requirements while supporting territory growth objectives. Territory covers Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. 

 

What you will do:

  • Sales & Business Development

    • Manage the full sales cycle for assigned accounts, from lead qualification through order fulfillment
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory
    • Gather technical and application requirements to support solution identification
    • Recommend engineered solutions aligned with customer needs and business capabilities
    • Develop and execute strategies to win identified opportunities
    • Follow up on quotations and secure purchase orders
    • Manage customer expectations throughout the sales process

    Customer & Cross‑Functional Coordination

    • Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams
    • Partner with engineering to support technical issue resolution and prototype development
    • Coordinate with manufacturing to manage delivery changes and minimize customer impact
    • Work with quality teams to resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently
    • Communicate customer requirements and feedback to inside sales and company leadership

    Territory & Market Management

    • Support marketing and market development initiatives, including lead generation and follow‑up
    • Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed
    • Provide written reports on customer contacts and significant developments
    • Deliver quarterly business reviews in the format specified by sales leadership
    • Participate in annual sales forecasting activities

 

We are looking for:

  • Must reside in the assigned New England territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field from an accredited educational institution
  • At least 3 years of direct sales experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of the operating principles and application of BLDC, brushed, and stepper motors, motor drives, lead screws, and linear actuators as well general engineering concepts of linear and rotary motion and power transfer
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Windows-based systems
  • Must be fluent (spoken & written) in English
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused, results-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

 

Additional Characteristics:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Solid understanding of engineering-driven sales environments
  • Willing to work outside and beyond standard office hours (8:00AM – 5:00PM Mon-Fri) when customer needs require
  • Willing to travel frequently with overnight stays as needed
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and drive for results
