Job description

Would you like to play a key role in developing reliable FPGA solutions for space applications? In this role, you will work with FPGA design for advanced space systems, collaborating closely with experienced engineers to develop robust and high-quality solutions. You will help create solutions designed to operate reliably in demanding space environments. Come and join us!

We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for FPGA Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Your role in our team

As our new FPGA Engineer you will have a crucial role in design and implementation of FPGA solutions for Space applications. You will work with digital electronics design from concept to implementation, including writing RTL VHDL, performing simulations, and validating designs through electrical testing. Your work will contribute directly to the development of advanced space systems where reliability and precision are critical.

In this role, you will work hands-on with the development of FPGA architectures, including simulation, synthesis, and verification of designs to ensure they meet strict performance and reliability requirements for space applications. You will also play an important role in shaping the future direction of FPGA technologies within our products. This involves analyzing design choices theoretically, reviewing designs from colleagues, and collaborating closely with other senior engineers to develop innovative solutions. As an FPGA specialist, you will act as a customer-facing expert, participating in customer reviews and helping address technical questions related to FPGA architectures and implementations.

You will join our Space Systems department, which consists of around 50 colleagues working with advanced electronics for space applications. Currently, the team includes one FPGA developer, meaning you will have a key role in strengthening this area. Our culture emphasizes high standards of quality in design, testing, and documentation. At the same time, openness and collaboration are central to how we work. We take pride in developing some of the most reliable electronics for space, and this shared ambition creates a strong sense of passion and commitment across the team.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your key responsibilities include:

      • Design and implementation of FPGA solutions for space applications
      • Development of RTL VHDL for digital electronics designs
      • Simulation, synthesis and electrical testing of FPGA designs
      • Documentation and management of FPGA design requirements
      • Participation in design reviews and technical assessments
      • Collaboration with senior engineers on new FPGA architecture and product development
      • Acting as FPGA technical expert in customer reviews and discussions

Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

      • You hold a Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Digital Electronics, Mathematics, Physis or similar technical field.
      • Several years’ experience in working with FPGAs from a relevant industry.
      • Understanding complex structures and securing an extreme level of reliability
      • Experience with designs for space environment is a plus but not necessary

As a person, you are professional and take responsibility for your work and decisions. You approach your tasks with a strong sense of ownership and take pride in delivering work of high quality. You have a strong drive to move tasks forward and are motivated by seeing projects progress from concept to completion. You work in a structured and organized manner and can prioritize tasks effectively, even when dealing with complex assignments or multiple requirements. At the same time, you maintain attention to detail and a focus on reliability and quality in everything you do.

We are an international company representing world-class expertise, delivering complex and high-tech products. We value our colleagues and our meaningful contributions to securing people through advanced technology. You will also experience that we have a strong focus on your development, teaching you useful new competences and further strengthening current ones, both professionally and personally. Our company culture is autonomous and engaging, and we acknowledge the importance of flexibility in a great working environment.

When joining Terma, we promise that you will experience: Great people, challenging tasks, world-class expertise, and meaningful contribution in your daily work.
