Job Title: Expert System Engineer (Global Support - Canada Business Unit)

Location: India (Remote/Office-based)

Shift: CST Timezone (North American Support)

Role Overview

​As an Expert System Engineer within the Altera Canada Business Unit, you will be the technical backbone for our Canadian healthcare clients. This role focuses on the end-to-end lifecycle of Altera software environments—from initial installation and complex configurations to critical migrations and version upgrades. You will ensure that our clinical and financial platforms are robust, scalable, and high-performing.

​Key Responsibilities

  • Environment Management: Lead the installation, configuration, and provisioning of Altera software environments for Canadian healthcare providers.

  • Upgrades & Migrations: Execute complex software upgrades and data migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

  • Infrastructure Support: Manage and maintain Windows-based server architectures and Azure cloud environments.

  • Database Administration: Perform intermediate SQL Server tasks including performance tuning, scripting, and troubleshooting.

  • Automation: Utilize PowerShell to automate repetitive deployment tasks and system health checks.

  • Incident Management: Use ServiceNow to track, manage, and resolve technical issues within established SLAs.

  • Version Control: Maintain deployment scripts and documentation via GitHub.

​Required Technical Skills

  • Core Systems: Experience in Windows Server administration and Microsoft Azure cloud services.

  • Database: Proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, backups, and relational database management).

  • Scripting: Intermediate to advanced PowerShell for system automation.

  • Workflow Tools: Experience with ServiceNow for ticketing and GitHub for version control.

​Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in the following Altera solutions:

  • ​Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM)

  • ​Sunrise Financial Manager (SFM)

  • ​CPM (Clinical Performance Management)

  • ​Altera Patient Flow

​Qualifications & Soft Skills

  • Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills (crucial for supporting Canadian stakeholders).

  • Adaptability: Proven ability to work the CST (Central Standard Time) shift to align with Canadian business hours.

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in system engineering, preferably within the Healthcare IT sector.
