Job description

QA Engineer (Voice Agents)

We are looking for a motivated Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality Voice AI Agent Software. In this role, you will support testing efforts across Voice AI components such as Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Natural Language Understanding (NLU), and Text-to-Speech (TTS), Workflow and Automation while also contributing to test documentation preparation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with up to 3 years of QA experience to deepen their skills in the fast-growing Voice AI space.
 

  • Part-time: 20 hours/week
  • Fully remote position: Australian company
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Long-term opportunity with potential for increased hours

Key Responsibilities:

● Assist in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Voice AI Agent applications and backend services.

● Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing of AI-powered voice interactions, including speech recognition, intent understanding, and response accuracy.

● Validate voice agent conversation flows, including ASR, NLU, and TTS performance.

● Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, test reports, and defect logs.

● Identify, report, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

● Participate in test reviews and provide feedback to developers and product managers.

● Support API testing for backend services and voice agent integrations.

● Collaborate closely with senior QA engineers, developers, and product teams to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.

● Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) preparation and execution.

● Ensure testing follows security and privacy best practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

● 1–3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing.

● Exposure to Voice AI, Chatbots, or Conversational AI products is preferred.

● Basic understanding of ASR, NLU, and TTS technologies.

● Experience writing and executing test cases and preparing QA documentation.

● Familiarity with QA tools such as Jira, TestRail, Postman, or similar.

● Some experience with API testing or automation tools is a plus.

● Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

● Strong verbal and written communication skills.

● Eagerness to learn new testing techniques and Voice AI technologies.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

● Familiarity with Bot Testing Tools (e.g., Botium) is a plus.

● Basic scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, or similar) for automation is a bonus.

● Experience with agile development processes.
