Roles & Responsibilities

Native Spanish speaker with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in IT/software localization with SDL Trados Studio and CAT tools.
Experience translating and proofreading IT/Software/Documentation content (Marketing a plus) with strong editorial skills and terminology management.
Excellent written and spoken English, strong analytical/problem-solving abilities, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, confidential remote freelance setting.

Requirements:

Translate IT/Software content including documentation and software UI, with software localization as a primary focus.
Perform linguistic review and QA to ensure accuracy and quality.
Manage terminology consistency through TMs, glossaries, and style guides.
Collaborate with a dynamic international team in a remote freelance environment, maintaining deadlines and adapting to changing project priorities.

Job description

This is a remote position.

LocalEyes Group is a leading provider of Localization Services to the international computer and software sectors with headquarters in Ireland and subsidiaries in Europe. LocalEyes is recruiting freelance talents to be part of its global and growing community of freelancers.

We are looking for translators with Spanish willing to provide translation and localization services in the IT sectors (Documentation, SW, and Marketing as a plus). For this role, you will be working as part of a dynamic team and in an international environment. Specific responsibilities include IT translations, SW localisation, linguistic review and QA, checking of terminology consistency through the management of TMs, glossaries and style guides to guarantee the quality of deliverables.

Field of Expertise: IT/Software, Technical, Software UI, Product Documentation, Computer, Marketing (would be a plus).

Duration: This project is ongoing with a start date to be determined (approximately 1 week advanced notice will be given before the first start date).

Location: Remote

Schedule: This work is based on project need and asks for good daily availability (min. 4 hours per day) as it's ongoing. Hours can therefore vary and flexibility with a changing schedule is very important. There might be full days of work in a row several times per year.

Requirements

Main requirements:

Native in Spanish with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience.
IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools.
Preferred experience as a translator specialized in translation and proofreading of the required field (IT, SW, Documentation, and preferably Marketing).
Editorial and/or journalistic skills and up-to-date with language and terminology trends.
Comfortable with technology.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills.
As a plus, experience translating content containing embedded variables in an XML environment with a high comfort level in manipulating XML type tags during translation.
Demonstrated aptitude to independently learn new technologies - some projects might be performed using proprietary localisation tool sets.
Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
Flexibility to respond and react to changing priorities quickly and efficiently.
Excellent written and spoken English to truly understand the meaning and translate as if it were originally written in target language.
Obsessed by the detail, quality-driven and has a passion for languages.
Understanding and attitude to work within a confidential environment.
Able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment with multiple changes in project priorities and tight deadlines.
Good availability, potentially at least 4 to 6 hours per day and quick response times.
