  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) with prior Takeoff/Estimator/Draftsman experience and knowledge of storefront/curtain wall systems.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Architectural Takeoff Specialist to produce accurate material takeoffs for storefronts, curtain walls, glazing systems, and related façade assemblies. The role involves interpreting architectural drawings and specifications, generating quantity and cost summaries, and supporting bid preparation. You will collaborate with project managers, estimators, architects, and vendors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely takeoff data. The ideal candidate is proficient with takeoff software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.), advanced in Excel, highly organized, and able to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple deadlines. Strong communication skills, reliability during working hours, and exceptional attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce accurate material takeoffs and quantities.
  • Perform detailed takeoffs specifically for storefronts, curtain wall, and other Division 8 assemblies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and architects to clarify scope and ensure takeoff completeness.
  • Identify, quantify, and track material requirements based on construction documents.
  • Assist in bid preparation by providing detailed, accurate takeoff data.
  • Maintain and update takeoff spreadsheets, databases, and cost-tracking templates.
  • Resolve plan discrepancies, conflicts, and unclear details by coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers to verify material pricing and availability.
  • Participate in internal project meetings regarding takeoff progress and material requirements.
  • Perform other tasks related to the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and internal leaders.
  • Proven experience performing quantity takeoffs for CSI Division 8 (storefronts, curtain wall, glazing systems).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction blueprints, sections, elevations, and architectural details.
  • Proficiency with takeoff software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Slack or similar tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, tables, organized summaries).
  • Strong understanding of building systems, design concepts, and construction materials.
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, preferably.
  • Prior experience as a Takeoff Specialist, Estimator, Draftsman, or similar construction-related role.
  • Familiarity with material pricing and cost estimation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and storefront/curtain wall systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Reliable availability for communication during working hours.
  • Sound judgment and the capacity to comprehend and execute instructions promptly with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer), two monitors, and stable high-speed internet.
