Introduction

Our client, a UK-based business, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate record-keeping. This role is ideal for someone who values precision, organization, and has strong knowledge of UK bookkeeping practices. Its a supportive, 100% remote position, offering flexibility and autonomy while working with a growing team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain complete and accurate financial records for daily transactions, including expenses, invoices, receipts, and payroll.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts weekly, investigating and resolving discrepancies within three business days.

Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow) by the 5th business day each month, providing leadership with clear visibility into performance.

Manage accounts payable and receivableprocessing vendor bills, sending client invoices, and tracking outstanding balances.

Support tax preparation by organizing documentation, categorizing expenses, and ensuring readiness for quarterly and annual filings.

Implement and maintain efficient bookkeeping systems and tools (QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent), streamlining workflows for accuracy and consistency.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting by compiling data, identifying variances, and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience.

Strong knowledge of UK bookkeeping practices, including VAT and compliance requirements.

Proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, or comparable accounting software.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, payroll, and tax compliance.
