Prior experience in the healthcare/insurance domain
5-10+ years of experience in Insurance/Healthcare or related field
Proven ETL/data integration experience, data warehouse lifecycle, and legacy-to-ELT conversion (Data Stage/SAS Logic to PySpark/SQL)

Requirements:

Translate business logic into dataframes and build data pipelines using Python, focusing on data engineering
Leverage Data Stage/SAS knowledge to convert legacy logic to modern ELT using PySpark/SQL; contribute to ETL development and testing
Work with SQL Server and perform independent data querying and analysis to ensure data quality and integrity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders; contribute to data warehouse design, requirements, and documentation; support cloud migration efforts (GCP) if applicable

Job description:

Role – Data Engineer

Location – 100% Remote

Duration – 12+ Months

Must Have

· Client is looking for for Data Engineers, who have to be data focused, not developers.

· Know how to convert business logic into dataframe, must have strong Python experience.

· Must have prior experience within healthcare insurance.

Top Skills' Details

· Python Experience required - must be data focused not developers: know how to convert business logic into dataframes

· 5-10+ years in relevant business field (Insurance / Healthcare)

· This is going to be more Python, with datastage ideally. An absolute plus would be if they have done a gcp cloud conversion on data warehouse but given the rate that I probably doubtful.

· Proven experience in understanding business logic embedded in legacy technologies (such as Data Stage, SAS Logic) and have code conversion experience to modern ELT logic (such as Pyspark / SQL Stored Procedures)

· Proven experience with major Database systems preferably SQL Server

· Strong SQL background... Must be able to independently query and analyze data

· Good understanding / Working experience with Tableau / Hadoop Technologies

· ETL project experience. Must have direct engineering / data processing experience in at least 3 data integration projects which must include experience developing requirements and specifications for ETL code. Ideally full Life Cycle Experience in Data Warehouse implementation projects.

Plus: cloud conversion to GCP

· Strong understanding of software architecture and programming principles to provide guidance to internal staff and end users in the process of designing data integration solutions to solve business challenges

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to reach cross-functional agreements

· Good understanding / Working experience with Tableau / Hadoop Technologies
