Roles & Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Manage a team of 3-10 Accountants to ensure day-to-day operational tasks are processed in a timely, high-quality manner in line with company policy and GBS procedures
  • Plan workloads, set priorities, mentor and develop team members, and provide regular feedback and performance appraisal
  • Ensure month-end closing activities: correct TE cost expensing to appropriate ledgers, reconciliations, timely processing, and controls; review outstanding transactions and support internal/external audits
  • Lead system-related initiatives including transfer of new companies/processes to GBS, system testing for upgrades, project initiation for stabilization/optimization, and SAP Concur administration and audits

Key responsibilities

Manage a team of 3-10 Accountants to ensure day to day operational team duties are processed in a timely manner, with the highest quality and according to company policy, GBS procedures and accounting rules.

Supporting the organization with professional accounting as well as other tasks related to the daily finance job, ensuring that service levels meet the requirements.

Key tasks

Set priorities and plan workload to meet deadlines and achieve the objectives of the department

Mentor and coach team members and support workplace learning

Motivate team members and initiate opportunities for skills development

Provide feedback to employees regularly, including Performance Appraisal Process meeting

Ensure that all T&E costs are expensed from the correct general ledgers in appropriate periods

Ensure all accounts in T&E Team scope are reconciled for the end of the month and proper controls reported in the system

Ensure accurate and timely month end processing

Making sure all T&E outstanding transactions are reviewed regularly

Responsibility for the transfer of new companies, proceses to GBS and from GBS

Assist in systems testing for upgrades and future improvements

Initate and lead various projects including stabilization and optimization projects

Support internal and external audits, other authorities

Approval of payments in bank system
Serving as the main administrator for SAP Concur, managing user roles, system configurations, and policy settings
Conducting regular SAP Concur system audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with company travel policies

Required education, experience and job-related skills

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in an Accountant position
  • Minimum 2 year of people management experience is required
  • Working with global stakeholders is mandatory
  • Good command of the English language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of at least one ERP system (AX2009, D365 or SAP) is required
  • Working knowledge of Concur is required
  • Experience with Detect application would be an asset
