Volunteer Home Checkers

Following the successful launch of PetRehomer in late 2022 — the 'home-to-home' adoption and pet rehoming service run by Charity Buddy — we’re now expanding our wonderful team of remotely based volunteer home checkers.

Our home checkers play a vital role in helping pets find their perfect forever homes. You’ll carry out scheduled individual home checks with potential adopters via video meeting, and write up your findings.

Each virtual home check follows a friendly, structured format using our detailed questionnaire. You’ll chat with adopters about their lifestyle, home environment, and any outdoor space to ensure it’s the ideal match for their new furry friend. 

As a PetRehomer home checker, you’ll receive full background information about both the adopter and the pet in advance. Once the adoption is complete, we’ll update you so you can share in the joy of knowing you helped make it happen! It’s an incredibly rewarding role that’s completely flexible around your schedule.

We’ll provide comprehensive training, and all we ask is that you bring great communication skills, patience, empathy, and a well-organised approach.
