Responsibilities

  • Social media management: Create, schedule and publish social media content across platforms (X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn); version content for different formats (stories, Reels, carousels); draft clear and engaging content in Arabic and English (and desirably French); monitor and grow engagement with online audiences.
  • Website management: Regularly update our website with victims’ profiles, press releases, articles, legal resources and reports; ensure all pages are up to date; work closely with the team to ensure website content reflects our legal advocacy work.
  • Content production and translation support: Assist with the production of communications materials including newsletters, articles, profiles of victims and survivors, and our annual report; coordinate with team members for case studies and testimonies; support multimedia content creation (graphics, short videos, infographics); support multilingual communications by translating and adapting materials between Arabic and English (and, when possible, French).
  • Design and brand consistency: Create visual posts and infographics using graphic design tools; ensure all materials align with brand guidelines.

Job description

This is a remote position.

This is a unique opportunity for an early-career communications assistant looking to build hands-on experience managing social media and digital content creation on human rights issues in the MENA region.
The role requires autonomy, creativity and adaptability, and a passion for creating impactful messages to advocate for the respect of human rights in the MENA.

  • Website management: Regularly update our website with victims’ profiles, press releases, articles, legal resources and reports; ensure all pages are up to date; work closely with the team to ensure website content reflects our legal advocacy work.

  • Administrative support: Coordinate meetings and support the organization of public events; provide statistics for reporting purposes; support the dissemination of project communication materials.



Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in advancing human rights in the MENA region.

  • University degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, international relations or a related field.

  • Relevant professional experience; ideally in working in an NGO and/or on human rights issues.

  • Excellent English and Arabic writing, editing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of French is a plus.

  • Excellent knowledge and use of all social media platforms, including Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn.

  • Excellent graphic design skills, with proficiency in the use of design tools such as Canva. Short video-making and editing skills are desirable.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, ability to meet multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Positive, can-do attitude; proactive, flexible and enthusiastic team player.

  • Ability to handle confidential matters with professional discretion.
