Job description

Risk Strategies Education/University Health Plans (RSE/UHP) is a benefit brokerage/consulting firm that specializes in the design, brokerage and service of college and university student health insurance plans. We represent numerous highly rated, competitive insurance companies that provide student health insurance plans for colleges and universities.

The Assistant Account Manager is responsible for overall account management, providing basic customer service, administering enrollment, performing reconciliations, and working with the insurance company to prevent and solve problems, and manage webpages for each school. In addition, the Assistant Account Manager will assist with RSE/UHP’s marketing and sales initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone inquiries from students, parents and school administrators about benefits, enrollment and other general information. Identify claim issues and solve them. Develop relationships with insurance company personnel and school administrators.
  • Develop communication material about the student health insurance plan.
  • Proof the student health insurance plan brochure and policy to ensure compliance with plan design and regulations.
  • Process enrollment, invoice client, and coordinate the deposit of premium payments.
  • Create and package claim reports, and perform analysis for client.
  • Meet with students and school administrators to explain insurance benefits.
  • Attend orientations upon request.
  • Coordinate renewal proposals and develop ideas for UHP brokerage service proposals.
  • Develop marketing material for clients to market their student health insurance plan and for RSE/UHP to market brokerage services.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent professional experience
  • L&H license or willingness to obtain licensure within 90 days of starting.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Independent worker able to effectively multi-task
  • Problem solving ability and strong attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
