Job description

We are a dedicated Squad on a mission to redefine Swiss watchmaking, rooted in our legacy since 1884. Driven by innovation and precision we create timepieces that combine modern-retro design with casual, approachable, and sustainable luxury — powered by passionate teams around the world.

Join our vibrant team in La Chaux-de-Fonds as a Movement Development Process Intern (m/f/x) and be part of something extraordinary!

At the crossroads of R&D, project management and digital tools, this internship offers the opportunity to contribute to how movement development projects are governed and tracked.
Your mission will be to organize how movement development projects pass through their development milestones: formalizing the criteria and responsibilities involved, building on what is already in place, and structuring the governance that brings together the right actors - from production and development to industrialization, purchasing and quality - in the right instances, to validate each step. The goal is for milestone status to reflect shared, explicit criteria and a clear decision-making process, rather than individual judgment.
Building on this foundation, you will look at how the tools and processes supporting movement development can be digitalized, drawing on an existing digital flow proposal that has not yet been pursued, and on the expectations already gathered from the teams concerned.

Your contribution:

Milestone Governance:

  • You map the movement development process and its key milestones, clarifying the decisions each milestone is intended to validate.
  • You build on existing practices to formalize the criteria and responsibilities associated with each milestone.
  • You define the governance framework for each milestone, identifying the stakeholders involved (Production, Development, Industrialization, Purchasing, and Quality), the relevant governance forums, and their respective roles.
  • You define how milestone status will be tracked and reported to provide management with a clear, consistent, and shared view of project progress.

Digitalization of Tools and Processes:

  • You assess how effectively current tools support the development process and identify opportunities where digitalization could bring the greatest value.
  • You review the existing digital workflow proposal and validate or adapt it based on available tools and feedback already gathered from the teams concerned.
  • You explore whether a shared visual tracking space, digital or physical, could improve visibility of project progress against the formalized milestones.
  • You formalize the target digital process and support its implementation where feasible within the scope of the internship.

Support to Continuous Improvement:

  • You contribute to the department's ongoing continuous improvement initiatives, helping identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and ways of working.

Do you think there is even more to discover in this role? You're right - apply today and learn more!

You will fit perfectly to our squad if:

  • You are currently pursuing a Master's degree at a leading engineering school, specializing in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have previous academic or internship experience in project management, R&D, product development, process improvement, or information systems, which would be considered an asset.
  • You have a solid engineering background, ideally in industrial, mechanical, or systems engineering.
  • You have a good understanding of project management principles, including scoping, planning, and stakeholder alignment.
  • You demonstrate advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze data and solve problems in a structured manner.
  • You have an interest in process mapping and formalization, including RACI matrices, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • You have an interest in PLM/ERP systems, such as SAP, as well as product development processes and watch movements.
  • You are interested in data visualization tools such as Power BI and in digital tools and no-code platforms.
  • You are comfortable interacting with R&D, project teams, and digital tools.
  • You demonstrate a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a strong willingness to learn.
  • You are curious and eager to understand complex technical and business processes.
  • You have a good command of English and French.

We invite you to apply even if you do not meet all of these criteria.
