Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Finance & Operations Manager to join a fast-growing SaaS and marketplace business serving the convenience retail industry. The company supports large retail chains and independent operators through digital ordering, delivery, and retail data solutions.

The business operates across multiple revenue models, including subscriptions, revenue-sharing partnerships, GMV-based programs, and project-based billing. With thousands of monthly billing, payout, and collection transactions, there is a significant opportunity to improve financial operations through automation, better systems, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations: Billing, Collections & Payouts

  • Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, collections, payment failures, overdue balances, and account suspensions.
  • Process recurring revenue-share payments and partner payouts.
  • Reconcile transactions across payment platforms, bank transfers, billing systems, partner reports, and internal product data.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payout disputes, and payment issues with customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Improve collections performance and maintain accurate, timely accounts receivable reporting.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Design and implement automated finance workflows using SQL, Python, APIs, AI-enabled development tools, and automation platforms.
  • Replace manual, error-prone processes with reliable, scalable systems.
  • Develop exception-handling workflows to identify overdue accounts, discrepancies, and potential errors before they escalate.
  • Establish documentation, financial controls, and data-quality standards for complex pricing and revenue-sharing arrangements.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency.

Financial Analysis & Decision Support

  • Extract, clean, reconcile, and analyze data from multiple systems to answer business questions.
  • Prepare financial analysis to support partner negotiations, pricing and packaging decisions, and customer profitability assessments.
  • Build and maintain dashboards covering ARR, ARPU, ARPS, gross margin, collections, cash flow, burn rate, and runway.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear findings, business implications, and actionable recommendations.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts across subscription, revenue-share, GMV-based, and project revenue streams.
  • Model customer growth, store launches, retention, revenue per account, gross margin, cash flow, and runway.
  • Translate sales pipeline, contracted stores, active locations, and customer activity into reliable revenue forecasts.
  • Compare actual performance against forecasts, investigate variances, and update assumptions as business conditions change.
  • Prepare monthly management and board reporting materials.
  • Support the external accounting team and contribute to an accurate, timely monthly financial close.

Customer & Partner Communication

  • Communicate directly with customers and partners to resolve payment, billing, and payout concerns.
  • Investigate transaction-level data and clearly explain financial discrepancies and their resolution.
  • Manage conversations involving overdue balances, contract interpretation, revenue-sharing terms, and potential account suspension.
  • Handle sensitive financial conversations professionally, confidently, and independently.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3–6 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, finance operations, revenue operations, business operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to independently retrieve and analyze data from multiple systems.
  • Practical automation experience using Python, APIs, automation platforms, and AI-enabled development tools such as Claude Code or similar solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience building automations or systems that permanently reduce manual work.
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including building models from scratch.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with incomplete, inconsistent, or complex data.
  • Experience working in a startup environment, ideally at the Seed through Series B stage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to US-based customers and partners.
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, urgency, and the ability to manage priorities independently.
  • Ability to communicate proactively, meet deadlines, and move projects forward without constant supervision.
  • Availability to maintain a consistent part-time schedule with overlap during US business hours.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SaaS, marketplaces, e-commerce, delivery, restaurant technology, logistics, or fintech.
  • Familiarity with revenue-sharing agreements, GMV-based revenue models, or multi-sided marketplaces.
  • Experience with Stripe, Bill.com, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar financial systems.
  • Experience with business intelligence and dashboarding tools.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition principles.

Why Join?

  • Work directly with company leadership and contribute to strategic business decisions.
  • Gain exposure to a multi-revenue-model SaaS and marketplace business.
  • Take ownership of finance operations and help redesign processes as the company scales.
  • Build practical automation solutions with measurable business impact.
  • Enjoy a fully remote, part-time opportunity with flexibility to coordinate a consistent schedule.

Work Location: Remote — candidates must be based in Latin America.
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, with agreed overlap during US business hours.
