Job description

Who we are

Worldline helps businesses of all shapes and sizes to accelerate their growth journey - quickly, simply, and securely. We are the innovators at the heart of the payments technology industry, shaping how the world pays and gets paid. Our technology powers the growth of millions of businesses across 5 continents. And just as we help our customers accelerate their business, we are committed to helping our people accelerate their careers. Together, we shape the evolution.

The opportunity

Join our High Availability (HA) Frontoffice Platform team as a Site Reliability Engineer, where you'll work alongside 7 dedicated professionals including DBAs, Cloud Engineers and SREs, working on exciting projects including our major cloud migration.

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Ensuring the reliable operation of the HA Platform and its 70+ applications running in a microservices-based architecture, across all platform layers including infrastructure, services and applications
  • Managing two distinct underlying infrastructures, both leveraging GitLab CI for automated deployments: one based on containerised application components running on redundant RHEL nodes with Docker and Ansible, and one based on a cloud-native stack leveraging OpenShift (Kubernetes), Terraform and Helm
  • Contributing to architectural design decisions and changes whilst driving automation across the platform to ensure consistency, availability and compliance
  • Contributing to the cloud migration of the European infrastructure, targeting the Worldline private cloud
  • Acting as the voice of operations when interacting with business, development teams and infrastructure providers, proposing and leading service, application and infrastructure improvements
  • Participating in remunerated on-call duties (3rd level support) throughout the year, ensuring end-to-end operational continuity of both the database infrastructures and the applications they support

Who are we looking for

  • At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in an SRE or DevOps role, supporting production systems and contributing to complex technical projects.
  • Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux, microservices and containerisation (e.g. Docker), with experience using cloud and container orchestration platforms.
  • Practical experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Terraform), application deployment with Helm, and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI.
  • Experience managing highly available production environments, including incident response, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
  • Experience with observability tools, and willingness to help maintain and develop our logging service based on OpenSearch and Grafana/Prometheus.
  • Awareness of security best practices and compliance standards; PCI-DSS knowledge is a plus.
  • Able to work independently, document work clearly and collaborate effectively with technical teams and external partners, including under pressure.
  • Fluent in English; French and/or German is an asset.

Perks & Benefits

  • Hybrid working arrangements within Switzerland with flexible working hours
  • 25 days annual international remote working opportunities
  • Public transport allowance
  • Monthly meal allowance
  • Additional benefits including family and leisure activity support
  • Employee share participation programme with financial stake in company growth

Shape the evolution

We are on an exciting journey towards the next frontiers of payments technology, and we look for big thinkers, people with passion, can-do attitude and a hunger to learn and grow. Here you'll work with ambitious colleagues from around the world, take on unique challenges as a team, and make a real impact on the society. With an empowering culture, strong technology and extensive training opportunities, we help you accelerate your career - wherever you decide to go.
