SAP ABAP Developer with S4HANA experience

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP on S/4HANA Developer with strong expertise in ABAP programming, custom development, performance optimization, and SAP application enhancements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA architecture, modern ABAP development techniques, and integration technologies to support complex SAP implementations, conversions, and ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom SAP applications using ABAP in SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Work extensively with ABAP Objects (OOP), CDS Views, AMDP, and modern ABAP syntax.
- Develop and maintain RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and SAP Fiori-related backend services, as applicable.
- Work with SAP Gateway, OData services (V2/V4), and APIs for integration with SAP and non-SAP applications.
- Implement enhancements using BAdIs, user exits, enhancement spots, and implicit/explicit enhancements.
- Perform performance tuning and optimization using tools such as SAT, ST05, SQL Monitor, and ABAP Test Cockpit.
- Develop and optimize code for SAP HANA using code pushdown techniques, CDS views, and AMDP.
- Support SAP S/4HANA implementations, system conversions, upgrades, and custom code remediation.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues, defects, and production incidents.
- Collaborate with SAP functional consultants across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, and other SAP modules.
- Follow SAP development standards, code quality guidelines, transport management procedures, and documentation practices.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
Required Technical Skills
- 8–12+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
- Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA application development and SAP HANA database concepts.
- Expertise in ABAP Objects, modern ABAP syntax, internal tables, Open SQL, and debugging.
- Experience with CDS Views, including associations, annotations, and analytical views.
- Strong knowledge of SAP HANA performance optimization and code pushdown techniques.
- Experience developing OData services, SAP Gateway services, and REST-based integrations.
- Knowledge of BAdIs, user exits, enhancement frameworks, BAPIs, IDocs, RFCs, and interfaces.
- Experience with ALV reports, Adobe Forms or Smart Forms, and background processing.
- Familiarity with ABAP Test Cockpit (Client), ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse, and SAP transport processes.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA custom code migration, simplification checks, and remediation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model) and SAP Fiori Elements.
- Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Integration Suite.
- Exposure to SAP Clean Core principles and released APIs.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementations, brownfield conversions, or selective data transitions.
- Knowledge of SAP workflow technologies and event-driven integrations.
- SAP ABAP or S/4HANA development certification is an advantage.
