Job description

Journalist – Citywire Americas

Citywire Americas is looking for an ambitious and globally minded journalist to join our expanding editorial team. This is an exciting opportunity to cover one of the most dynamic regions in global wealth and asset management, producing high-quality, independent journalism for a sophisticated professional audience across the US Offshore and Latin American markets.

This is a predominantly remote role, but you will be expected to meet industry sources face to face and travel regularly across the region to develop contacts and cover key market developments.

You’ll cover a fast-moving beat, reporting for fund selectors, private bankers, wealth managers, CIOs and family offices. You’ll work closely with colleagues in London, Madrid and New York to deliver timely, high-quality journalism and build strong industry connections across the Americas.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce breaking news, interviews and feature stories for professional investors in the US Offshore and Latin American markets.

  • Publish accurate, timely and engaging digital content across our platforms.

  • Curate and deliver our daily newsletter, selecting top stories and ensuring on-time distribution.

  • Conduct interviews with fund managers, CIOs, selectors and senior industry leaders.

  • Build and maintain strong source networks across asset management, private banking and wealth management.

  • Work with our global editorial and video teams to produce high-impact multimedia content.

  • Attend industry events, Citywire conferences and external roundtables, producing on-the-ground coverage.

  • Take ownership of your beat, finding original stories and breaking news.

  • Represent Citywire at live events, including moderating panels.

What we’re looking for:

  • Language Skills: Fluent English and Spanish (near-native); Portuguese is a bonus.

  • Experience: Proven journalism experience, ideally covering finance, markets, or investments, with a proven track record of breaking stories.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, asset management, and private banking.

  • Writing & Editing: Able to turn complex ideas into clear, concise, and compelling content under tight deadlines.

  • Interviewing & Networking: Confident building relationships with senior professionals and developing a network of trusted sources.

  • Analytical Skills: Think critically and translate data, trends, and market insights into actionable journalism.

  • News Sense: Skilled at spotting stories, breaking news, and pitching original ideas that resonate with a professional audience.

  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with digital publishing tools, with multimedia or video experience a bonus.

  • Collaboration & Mindset: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive independently while working closely with remote colleagues.
