We are seeking a hands-on Data Migration Architect to lead modernization of Oracle, Informatica PowerCenter, Pro*C, PL/SQL, and SQL-script workloads onto GCP. The role combines legacy-platform depth with GCP architecture, migration engineering, governance, and production accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess Oracle schemas and PL/SQL, Informatica mappings and workflows, Pro*C programs, SQL scripts, schedules, dependencies, volumes, and lineage.
- Define GCP target architecture using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Datastream, and Cloud SQL or AlloyDB.
- Map Oracle data types, partitioning, indexing, constraints, sequences, stored logic, and embedded SQL to scalable GCP-native designs; identify refactoring needs.
- Modernize Informatica and batch pipelines into SQL, Dataflow, Dataproc, or Composer patterns for joins, lookups, aggregations, routing, updates, and high-volume processing.
- Design bulk and incremental loads, CDC, restartability, idempotency, orchestration, error handling, audit, lineage, observability, security, and cost/performance controls.
- Establish reconciliation and traceability for counts, totals, balances, transformations, integrity, and business rules; lead testing, cutover, rollback, validation, and hypercare.
- Lead architecture and code reviews and communicate decisions, risks, dependencies, and readiness to client stakeholders and distributed teams.
Required Experience and Skills
- 12–15 years in data engineering, ETL, database migration, or data architecture, including 5+ years in an architect or senior technical leadership role.
- Knowledge on Agentic Implementation with industry standard Agentic Platforms
- Deep Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise: schemas, packages, procedures, triggers, execution plans, partitioning, indexing, bulk processing, tuning, and large-volume migration.
- Understanding of Informatica PowerCenter expertise: repository objects, mappings, sessions, workflows, parameterization, dependencies, troubleshooting, tuning, and migration assessment.
- Working knowledge of Pro*C, embedded SQL, host variables, cursors, transaction control, file processing, and refactoring to GCP-native patterns.
- Hands-on GCP skills in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC Service Controls, Composer, Dataflow or Apache Beam, Dataproc or Spark, Pub/Sub, Datastream, Cloud SQL or AlloyDB, Logging, and Monitoring.
- BigQuery modeling, partitioning, clustering, SQL optimization, batch and streaming ingestion, governance, metadata, lineage, reconciliation, security, and cost management.
- Python, SQL, shell scripting, Git, CI/CD, Terraform or equivalent infrastructure automation, and production deployment practices.
- Proven ability to lead global teams and translate legacy business logic into secure, scalable, supportable GCP solutions.
Preferred
Google Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect certification; Oracle-to-BigQuery migration, Informatica modernization, database-conversion tools, Terraform, dbt, data-quality frameworks, and retail, supply chain, inventory, pharmacy, or reporting experience.
