Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyst to support internal and external reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and general accounting operations for our rapidly growing cloud real estate brokerage firm. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career accounting or finance professional with 1-3 years of experience who wants hands-on exposure to a scaling finance function, NetSuite-based close processes, reporting automation, audit support, and future public-company readiness. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, comfortable working with financial data, and eager to help build repeatable processes, maintain audit-ready support, and translate accounting data into clear reporting for leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly and quarterly close and reporting processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, rollforwards, schedules, and variance explanations.
  • Prepare and maintain GAAP-based reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, revenue and commission-related accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other areas as assigned.
  • Assist with internal reporting packages, KPI reporting, financial statement support schedules, executive reporting, and recurring financial and operational reporting deliverables.
  • Support external reporting needs, including audit schedules, lender, investor, board, and other stakeholder reporting support, and tie-outs of financial data to source systems and reporting packages.
  • Support future SEC and public-company readiness efforts by preparing tie-out support, data validation, PBC schedules, disclosure support, as applicable.
  • Assist with reconciliations between operational systems, including Connect or similar systems, and accounting or reporting systems such as NetSuite, close management tools, BI tools, and spreadsheet models.
  • Help maintain reporting templates, data checks, process documentation, close calendars, and audit-ready support to improve accuracy, repeatability, and completeness.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Technology, and other teams to research variances, resolve reporting questions, and improve data consistency across systems.
  • Identify manual processes, spreadsheet-heavy workflows, and recurring reporting pain points, and recommend improvements, automation opportunities, or stronger controls.
  • Provide generalist accounting support as needed, including AP-adjacent activities, expense review, cash activity support, system testing, special projects, and ad hoc analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting, financial reporting, audit, FP&A, finance operations, or related experience
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and large data sets
  • Understanding of basic GAAP, month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement concepts
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to trace data from source systems to reported outputs
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare clear support for accounting, reporting, and audit purposes
  • Self-starter who can work independently, proactively surface issues or risks, and follow through on open items
  • High degree of professionalism, ownership, integrity, and commitment to accuracy and completeness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting month-end close, audit schedules, financial reporting, or account reconciliations in a growing organization
  • Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, QuickBooks, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Google Sheets automation, or similar systems
  • Experience in real estate, brokerage, transaction-based, marketplace, or services-based industries
  • Exposure to external reporting, investor, lender, or board reporting, SEC reporting, IPO readiness, SOX readiness, or financial statement tie-out processes
  • Experience supporting ERP transitions, system implementations, reporting automation, data validation, or process improvements
