The Opportunity

As a Statistical Reporting Analyst, you will own end-to-end statistical reporting for Property & Casualty insurance programs across multiple jurisdictions and reporting bureaus. You'll prepare, validate, and submit statistical and financial data to organizations such as ISO, NISS, ISS, and other independent bureaus on behalf of our clients.

This role manages reporting from data intake and validation through submission, edit resolution, reconciliation, and final approval. It is ideal for someone with hands-on bureau reporting experience, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of insurance data and statistical reporting requirements, who can manage multiple reporting deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Statistical Reporting

• End-to-End Ownership: Manage statistical reporting processes from data intake, validation, and preparation through submission and post-submission review

• Prepare & Submit: Prepare and submit statistical reports for multiple lines of business, including General Liability, Commercial Auto, Property, Fidelity & Surety, and other P&C lines, to ISO, NISS, ISS, and other state or independent bureaus

• Deadline Management: Monitor reporting calendars and manage multiple submission deadlines across clients, lines of business, and jurisdictions

Data Quality & Reconciliation

• Review & Validate: Review source data and reporting output for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable statistical reporting requirements

• Reconcile: Perform data reconciliations and quality checks, including premium, exposure, loss, claim, policy, coverage, and other statistical data

• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate discrepancies and identify the root cause of data issues, including missing or invalid data, coding inconsistencies, mapping issues, and source-system errors

• Edit Resolution: Review, research, and resolve bureau edits, exceptions, and validation errors within required deadlines

• Testing: Test and validate reporting output following system or specification changes prior to production submission

Client & Team Communication

• Issue Communication: Communicate data issues and required corrections to clients and internal teams, ensuring questions are thoroughly researched and validated before they are raised

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of reporting requirements, specifications, processes, and bureau communications

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, automation, and operational efficiency

• Regulatory Awareness: Stay current on applicable bureau requirements, statistical plans, reporting changes, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of P&C insurance statistical reporting, data analysis, or related insurance operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Direct experience with ISO, NISS, ISS, state-specific, or independent bureau statistical reporting

• Strong understanding of P&C insurance data, statistical reporting requirements, and bureau specifications

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and data reconciliation

• Experience working with flat files, fixed-width files, delimited files, and large data sets

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve data issues

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical and data-related issues

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively with clients and internal teams

• Strong organizational, documentation, regulatory, and compliance skills

• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple P&C lines of business and reporting bureaus

• Experience with SQL, SQL Server, or other data-querying tools

• Experience with reporting systems, data conversions, system implementations, or reporting process development

• Experience troubleshooting reporting output and collaborating with software development teams

• Familiarity with bureau edit packages, statistical plan changes, and reporting specification updates

• Experience with JIRA, Wrike, or other project/workflow management tools

Salary and Benefits

The base salary for this position is $61,000 to $76,000. Final salary offer will be based on several factors, including commensurate experience, qualifications, and skills.
