Position Overview:
- The DevOps Architect will provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of OPNET's DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and platform reliability strategy.
- This role will define scalable, secure, and repeatable architecture patterns that improve infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, recovery, and operational support.
- The architect will establish DevOps standards and reference architectures using Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform, Ansible, HashiCorp Packer, Vault, Nutanix AHV, and related automation technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Define the overall DevOps and IaC architecture and technical roadmap.
- Establish reusable architectural patterns for automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
- Design CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps and Git, incorporating appropriate controls, approvals, testing, and deployment practices.
- Architect secure secrets and credential-management patterns using Vault and approved enterprise solutions, keeping credentials outside source repositories.
- Provide architecture guidance for Nutanix AHV, Linux, Windows, Oracle-related platforms, networking, storage, and infrastructure services.
- Drive automation patterns that reduce manual effort, configuration drift, and dependency on tribal knowledge while improving repeatability and recovery readiness.
- Integrate observability and operational validation into DevOps designs using Grafana, Prometheus and alerting capabilities.
- Partner across infrastructure, application, security, networking, database, and operations teams to translate requirements into maintainable technical architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and design guidance to DevOps/IaC engineers responsible for implementation.
- Establish documentation, architecture standards, implementation patterns, and operational handoff requirements.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with enterprise DevOps architecture, Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform, Ansible, HashiCorp technologies, Nutanix/virtualization, Linux and Windows infrastructure, CI/CD, secrets management, monitoring/observability, and disaster-recovery automation.
- Combine hands-on technical depth with the ability to establish standards and guide engineering teams through implementation.
- ADO, Agile Change Management, Ansible, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Experience applying AI/ML to IT operations (AIOps), specifically in predictive log analysis, automated incident remediation, and automated root-cause analysis
- Git Repository, Grafana, HashiCorp Packer, HashiCorp Vault, Linux Red Hat, manage Oracle database access requirements, Nutanix, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Python Scripting, Terraform, Windows Server Configuration
Pay Rate: $89.00-$103.00/Hour
