Job description

As a Cardiac Specialist I, you will play a critical role in the analysis and processing of cardiac safety data used in global clinical trials. Working in a remote production environment, you will perform electrocardiogram (ECG) measurements, Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) data processing, and safety assessments while ensuring the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform interval duration and heart rate measurements on digital and paper ECGs in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Analyze ECG waveforms, place digital calipers, and perform measurement adjustments utilizing approved methodologies.
  • Use validated software tools to convert cardiac image files into XML format and verify conversion accuracy.
  • Calibrate and scale PDF-based ECG records to ensure accurate cardiac measurements.
  • Process cardiac safety data from continuous Holter recordings.
  • Extract protocol-specific 12-lead ECG time points and export XML files to designated databases for measurement activities.
  • Evaluate cardiac safety data for alert findings and follow escalation procedures when clinically significant observations are identified.
  • Perform Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) processing activities.
  • Manage multiple workflows and prioritize assignments according to operational requirements and business priorities.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to demonstrate accuracy, precision, consistency, and repeatability.
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, work instructions, regulatory requirements, and departmental standards.
  • Meet or exceed established productivity, quality, and turnaround-time metrics.
  • Identify and report system or application performance issues through appropriate management and technical support channels.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

What We Look For

  • Associate's degree, ECG certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, life sciences, or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and anatomy.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an ECG Core Laboratory, cardiac diagnostics environment, clinical research organization, or related healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in environments governed by GCP, GDPR, and data privacy regulations preferred.
  • Experience processing ECG, Holter, cardiac telemetry, or other cardiac safety data.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, Excel, and database systems.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities within a metrics-driven production environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while maintaining high individual productivity.
  • Positive, proactive, and customer-focused approach to work.
  • Ability to work remotely from Costa Rica while maintaining productivity and quality expectations.
