Job description

As a Cardiac Specialist II, you will play a critical role in the analysis, processing, and quality review of cardiac safety data used in global clinical trials. In this remote Costa Rica-based position, you will perform advanced ECG, Holter, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring analyses while supporting quality initiatives, mentoring team members, and ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and patient safety. What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform interval duration and rate measurements on digital and paper ECGs according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Evaluate and place calipers on digital ECGs using validated methodologies to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Utilize validated software applications to convert ECG image files and verify waveform integrity.
  • Calibrate and measure paper ECG images accurately for clinical trial analysis.
  • Process cardiac safety data from continuous Holter recordings and ambulatory monitoring devices.
  • Extract protocol-specific 12-lead ECG time points and prepare data for subsequent analysis and review.
  • Perform Holter arrhythmia analysis and compile detailed reports of clinically relevant cardiac events for cardiologist evaluation.
  • Evaluate ECG and Holter data for safety findings and alert conditions, ensuring timely notification according to study procedures.
  • Perform Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) processing activities.
  • Manage competing workflow priorities and support the timely delivery of cardiac safety services.
  • Complete data revisions and corrections for ECG, Holter, and ABPM studies as directed.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs to demonstrate accuracy, precision, repeatability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor and support new team members, helping them achieve operational and quality objectives.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system validation activities.
  • Support investigations, edit checks, and quality management activities to maintain data integrity.
  • Create, maintain, and improve workflow documentation, training materials, tracking logs, and procedural documents.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree, ECG certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience processing cardiac safety data in a core laboratory, clinical research environment, or related healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, ECG interpretation, and cardiac rhythm analysis.
  • Experience performing Holter analysis and identifying cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Experience working within GCP, GDPR, and data privacy-regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems proactively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, and database systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a metrics-driven production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Experience mentoring, training, or supporting less experienced team members is preferred.
  • Professional, positive, and customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work remotely from Costa Rica.
