Job description

As a Managing Director, EHR Consulting, your work at Tegria will focus on leading Tegria's EHR consulting service line, accountable for its financial performance, growth strategy, pricing discipline, and service quality. You own the P&L—revenue, margin, utilization, and cost structure—and set pricing and rate card strategy with Finance and executive leadership, translating enterprise strategy into service-line plans that scale profitably while meeting market demand.

Leading through Directors and Managers, you oversee day-to-day operations, hire, develop, and retain consulting talent, and build domain delivery leads who operate independently as strategic advisors. Partnering closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Technology, you strengthen service offerings, improve delivery effectiveness, and advance Tegria's position in the healthcare IT market.

THE ROLE YOU PLAY

An effective Managing Director, EHR Consulting will help the organization on a whole achieve success through:

  • Living our Tegria values: Respect Every Person, Act with Integrity, Strive for Better, Embrace Change, Deliver as a Team

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the service-line strategy and roadmap for EHR (Epic, MEDITECH or other) consulting, aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into operational plans, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee service-line performance across growth, profitability, delivery quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain operating frameworks, processes, and performance metrics to support consistent execution.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex delivery, client, or operational issues.
  • Contribute to broader organizational strategy through collaboration with executive leadership.

Financial Management & Performance Accountability

  • Own service-line financial performance, including revenue, margin, utilization, and cost management.
  • Support P&L management through forecasting, budgeting, and performance monitoring in partnership with Finance.
  • Define pricing guidelines, rate structures, and margin expectations in coordination with Finance and executive leadership.
  • Drive disciplined financial operations, including capacity planning, utilization management, and cost control.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and scalability.

Growth, Sales & Market Positioning

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to support go-to-market execution, pipeline development, and service positioning.
  • Contribute to growth through account expansion, service innovation, and client relationship development.
  • Provide leadership input on proposals, solution design, and pricing for complex or strategic opportunities.
  • Participate in key client engagements and industry interactions to support credibility and relationship building.
  • Monitor healthcare IT market trends and competitive dynamics to inform service evolution.

Service Delivery & Quality Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery through directors and managers, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Establish and enforce service delivery standards, quality controls, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Monitor performance through KPIs and dashboards, proactively addressing delivery risks and performance gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data security standards, and organizational policies, including HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Drive operational excellence across implementations, support services, and consulting engagements.

Vendor & Partner Collaboration

  • Support relationships with key vendors, including Epic or MEDITECH and other strategic partners.
  • Collaborate on vendor-related initiatives that enhance service capabilities and delivery efficiency.
  • Contribute to evaluation of partnerships that support service growth and differentiation.

Organizational Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop managers and senior individual contributors responsible for service delivery and operations.
  • Ensure clear accountability, performance expectations, and alignment across teams.
  • Support talent development, coaching, and succession planning to build organizational capability.
  • Hire, develop, and retain consulting talent, promoting effective performance management, career development, and succession planning aligned with corporate requirements.
  • Develop domain delivery leads capable of operating independently as strategic advisors and subject matter experts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Align organizational structure and resources to meet service-line demands.

Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify and manage operational, financial, and delivery risks within the service line.
  • Apply established governance frameworks, policies, and controls to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Escalate material risks or issues to executive leadership as appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Tegria’s mission, strategy, and growth.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We expect:
