The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving moderately complex claims within established guidelines and authority levels. The role ensures timely, fair, and cost-effective claims handling while maintaining regulatory compliance and delivering superior customer service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle a portfolio of moderately complex property and casualty claims from intake to resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering statements, reviewing policy coverage, and analyzing relevant documentation.
• Evaluate exposure and potential liability based on policy language and facts.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits while ensuring cost control and fairness.
• Maintain accurate documentation, claim notes, and reports in compliance with internal standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams, legal counsel, and external vendors as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, internal policies, and service-level agreements.
• Provide responsive communication and superior service to policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant claims handling experience with demonstrated knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles.
• Experience working with claims management systems and standard office software.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS
• Appropriate state adjuster license(s) required or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Industry certifications such as Associate in Claims (AIC) or CPCU coursework are preferred but not mandatory.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
• Claims investigation and evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
• Negotiation and settlement proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple claims and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in claims systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Customer service orientation with attention to detail.
