Job description

JOB TITLE – ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Build confidence in every number. We’re looking for a detail-focused Assistant Accountant who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, reporting timely, and stakeholders well supported. If you combine sound accounting fundamentals with a proactive, service-minded approach, you’ll thrive in this small and supportive finance team.


Work Setup: Hybrid 2x a week in Makati Office


Role Overview

As our Assistant Accountant, you’ll support a mix of financial and management accounting activities, helping ensure general ledger data, accounts payable and receivable transactions, and month-end reports are recorded accurately and delivered on time. You’ll also contribute to finance projects while learning from leaders who are passionate about training and mentoring.


Key Responsibilities

· Process Transactions: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense processing accurately and on schedule.

· Reconcile Bank Accounts: Complete timely bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

· Manage Accruals and Prepayments: Prepare, record, and maintain accurate schedules for accruals and prepayments.

· Support Month-End Close: Prepare end-of-month journals and contribute to accurate, timely management reporting.

· Reconcile the Balance Sheet: Complete balance sheet reconciliations, follow up outstanding items, and maintain supporting documentation.

· Contribute to Projects: Support ad hoc finance initiatives and process-improvement activities as required.


Skills & Experience

· Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

· Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant, with foundational knowledge of accounting standards.

· Working knowledge of Australian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements.

· Hands-on experience using Xero accounting software.

· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with close attention to detail.

· Clear communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

· Experience supporting an Australian accounting or bookkeeping firm is advantageous.
