Job description

Come and push your journey to the next level!

A taste of what you’ll do:

The Senior Frontend Developer works on our in-house projects: designing features, writing code, performing code reviews, solving problems, and delivering stable, well-built solutions. The Senior Frontend Developer is part of a development team that owns and drives continuous improvement of its business domain using agile methodologies. Within that team they own frontend architecture and are a technical reference point for the frontend. They are expected to show ownership, versatility, and enthusiasm for technical challenges across our stack. They should also set a strong example in using modern development practices, including AI-assisted tooling, to work efficiently and to a high standard.

  • Designing and developing new frontend features, from requirements analysis through to delivery.
  • Proposing and owning frontend architectural solutions across multiple projects, including component architecture, state management, and shared libraries.
  • Building efficient, testable, and reusable UI components, and promoting consistent patterns and standards across the team.
  • Solving complex performance problems and architectural challenges, with close attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshooting complex application and code issues, and leading root-cause analysis when problems span multiple systems.
  • Integrating REST and GraphQL APIs, and working with backend developers to design and propose new ones where needed.
  • Making effective use of client-side storage solutions.
  • Maintaining, refactoring, and modernizing application features across multiple projects, including legacy code.
  • Conducting analysis of UX/UI projects and application requirements, working closely with other developers, QA, designers and the product team.
  • Providing estimates and technical documentation when requested.
  • Managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Working with external partners when required.
  • Helping track requests, issues, work progress, and other changes using our project management tools.
  • Performing code reviews and coaching and mentoring other frontend developers.
  • Using AI tools thoughtfully to support development, testing, and documentation (e.g. code review assistance, test generation, MCP-based workflows). These tools should enhance sound engineering practice, not replace an understanding of the code, and the role includes guiding the team on how to use them responsibly.

Who and what we are after?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a comparable software development role, with mastery of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
  • Extensive, proven experience with Vue in production applications. Familiarity with other SPA frameworks/libraries is an advantage but not a substitute.
  • Strong knowledge of semantic HTML5 and modern CSS3 (e.g. Flexbox, Grid), including building scalable styling architectures, and hands-on experience with CSS preprocessors such as SCSS.
  • In-depth experience with Vite or similar build tools such as Webpack, including configuring and optimising builds.
  • Awareness of the challenges of building scalable, high-performance frontend applications (e.g. rendering performance, bundle size, Core Web Vitals).
  • Ability to write and maintain automated tests and clear technical documentation.
  • Proficient with version control systems, including Git, and with branching and code review workflows.
  • Proven experience resolving cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issues.
  • Solid experience consuming and helping shape REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time communication (e.g. WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, or similar).
  • Experience with iframe interactions and cross-origin communication (e.g. postMessage).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, to run and manage the local development environment.
  • Proven experience mentoring developers or acting as technical lead on a frontend initiative.
  • Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. AI coding assistants, MCP integrations) as part of a modern workflow.
  • Working proficiency and strong communication skills in spoken and written English

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency with the Unix shell and Linux development environments.
  • Good understanding of SEO best practice; familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation, SEO adapted for AI/LLM-driven search) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL, to retrieve and inspect data from the database when needed.
  • Ability to read and understand PHP code, useful for working with legacy code on some projects. Laravel experience is a plus.
