Northrop Grumman’s Corporate Sector's Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a Principal Software Development Analyst to support the Enterprise Platforms & Applications (EPA) organization with enterprise-wide applications.


The selected candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, modifying, and/or deploying enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software for Enterprise Shared Security Services (ESSS). He/she will support the development and maintenance of the Java, .NET, Python and COTS applications.


This position will allow for a virtual/telecommuting employee.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports a larger technical team in system planning, development, and deployment of ESSS software while maintaining software compliance standards.
  • Provides data analysis and supports systems/application integrations. Evaluates operational requirements, systems architecture, and the interface between systems.
  • Provides, documents, and oversees testing to ensure high-quality releases and little-to-no downtime.


The candidate should possess strong written and spoken communication skills.  The position requires direct interaction with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements to meet business needs, design solutions, and develop and implement features. They should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with ever changing priorities.


Basic Qualifications:

  • In order to be considered, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline and 5 years of professional experience with the required skill set OR a Master's degree and 3 years OR a PhD and 1 year.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret levelsecurity clearance as a condition of continued employment.
  • Demonstrated experience programming in Python, T/SQL, Java, C#, and .NET core.
  • Ability to gather and translate the Security organizations requirements into technical and functional solutions for use by cross-sector Security organizations.
  • Comfortable working with both end-users and suppliers and be willing to attend trainings in order to become certified as systems subject-matter-expert.
  • Strong communication skills, customer service and writing skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to perform full-stack web-development.
  • High level of experience programming in T/SQL, Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience using, configuring, and deploying Java applications.
  • Experience developing Java Server Page applications.
  • Strong understanding of JSON.
  • Knowledgeable regarding clearance processes or tools.
  • Experience in using Kanban to manage work, along with management tools such as Azure DevOps / Atlassian Suite.
  • Strong experience using GIT for software maintenance and code reviews.
  • Experience developing and consuming APIs, regular and restful.
  • Knowledge of SSO authentication and how to implement it.
  • Knowledge of creating/maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Self-starter / motivated to work on tasks independently, and respond to off-hour emergencies.
  • Ability to test and analyze production issues with limited toolsets.
  • Experience in understanding, constructing, and enhancing complex relational databases.

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
