Job description

The IBM i (AS400) Systems Consultant will asssist with system maintenance, upgrades, and migrations. This role focuses on critical infrastructure support, including applying system fixes, performing OS upgrades, and aiding in future migrations.
Scope:
  • Focused on system maintenance and migration support
  • Support Backup Administration team as a second level escalation.
  • Operating systems administration and support.
  • Assist information security team during investigations as a second level escalation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform OS400 upgrades and updates as necessary (currently at V7R5), ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Assist with migrations from the current IBM i model to future models replacing the existing infrastructure.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations for optimizing the IBM i environment.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices for system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Evertec's IT team to support project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Extensive experience working with IBM i (AS400) systems, including OS400 upgrades and patching.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM i system architecture, partitions, and operational procedures.
  • Experience in system migrations to new IBM i models.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with IT teams.

Shift: 3rd
Working hours: Sunday thru Thursday 10pm – 6am (AST)
