About the Role
CSC engineers build the Retail Service Cloud - a shared platform of APIs, SDKs, and microservices that powers operations across Backcountry, Sur La Table, One Kings Lane, Competitive Cyclist, MotoSport, and other portfolio brands.
The stack is TypeScript-first, AWS serverless, React frontend. Engineers own services end-to-end: design, build, ship, monitor.

Engineers here build systems where LLMs classify, generate, and decide at scale - with cost functions, confidence routing, and graduated autonomy. If you’ve never built production AI systems, that’s fine - but you should be excited to learn.
What You'll Do
Develop well-designed, testable, and scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
Explore and integrate AI tools to streamline development and improve user engagement.
Deliver new features and optimize existing experiences at speed and scale within an agile workflow.
Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
Write and maintain unit tests and automated test suites to ensure code quality and reliability.
Partner closely with product, design, and back-end engineering to ship cohesive end-to-end features.
Stay current with the latest trends in front-end engineering, design patterns, and AI-driven development.
Required Qualifications
5+ years building complex, high-performing web applications.
Deep expertise in React and JavaScript ES6/TypeScript.
Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility, and security best practices.
Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
Experience with AI technologies like Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar tools to support Frontend development and user engagement strategies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
UX/UI design sensibilities and experience collaborating closely with design teams.
Functional programming experience.
