About the team

The Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Operations (CREWO) team partners across Zillow Group to align teams, optimize processes, and execute high-impact projects and programs. We create operational strategies, construct financial analytics and reporting tools that provide insight into the performance of teams that help drive future decision making, execute projects, oversee programs and manage onsite building operations.

About the role

This role sits within the Business Operations & Strategy team. As a Business Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in modernizing financial and operational processes, with a strong focus on automation, AI-driven efficiency, and scalable analytics. You will own core financial planning workflows today while building the systems and processes that will transform how this work is done in the future.

This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from the ground up, and is excited to drive modernization across multiple organizations. You will have direct visibility to senior finance leaders, up to the CFO level, and will need to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with confidence, polish, and sound judgment.

You Will Get To: 

• Financial Planning & Operations
  • Own and evolve annual budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple organizations
  • Lead monthly and quarterly reforecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with business priorities
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to manage accruals, reporting, and system updates (e.g., Anaplan)
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and planning
• Automation & Process Modernization
  • Leverage AI tools daily—as both an automation engine and a thought partner—to increase the speed, quality, and scale of financial and operational work       
  • Design and implement automated forecasting and reforecasting workflows, reducing manual effort and freeing capacity for higher-value analytical and project work    
  • Identify inefficiencies across financial and operational processes and lead automation initiatives
  • Partner with Engineering and systems teams to enhance and scale existing tools

• Data Analytics & Reporting

• Develop scalable reporting and dashboards using BI tools to provide visibility into budgets, spend, and operational performance
• Deliver insights that inform strategic decisions across CREWO and partner teams
• Support ad hoc and ongoing analytics needs across multiple organizations

• Cross-Functional Program & Project Leadership
  • Lead and support high-priority roadmap initiatives across CREWO and other partner teams
  • Drive project execution in ambiguous environments, aligning stakeholders and delivering results
  • Act as a connector across teams to ensure initiatives are well-scoped, tracked, and successfully implemented

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $90,900.00 - $145,100.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

• Highly analytical with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Collaborative and adaptable, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement

• Able and willing to travel nationally approximately 10-15% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in business operations, financial operations, analytics, or a related field
• Experience working in cross-functional environments and supporting multiple stakeholders

Must-Have Skills

•  Active user of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) with the creativity to identify where AI can add value and the curiosity to build increasingly sophisticated AI-powered workflows over time
• Strong experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau or similar) for reporting and analytics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial planning tools such as Anaplan
• Experience working with Workday or similar enterprise systems
• Experience building financial models or supporting budgeting/forecasting processes
• Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira)
• Background in corporate real estate, finance operations, or related functions
