As a Regional Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) Specialist, you will play a critical role in protecting our people, supporting our customers, and advancing a culture of safety excellence across North America. Partnering closely with field teams, operational leaders, and customers, you'll identify risks, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and help ensure every employee returns home safely.
This is a highly visible remote-based role that combines hands-on field engagement with strategic safety leadership. Because the position supports operations across North America, travel of up to 50% is expected, allowing you to build relationships across multiple sites and directly influence safety performance in the field. Serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you'll influence safety culture, lead meaningful improvement initiatives, and support operational excellence across a dynamic field service environment supporting approximately 400 employees across the region.
What You'll Do
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of regional health, safety, and environmental programs across assigned operations and geographic areas.
- Translate global HSE requirements, standards, and objectives into practical regional initiatives that support business goals and improve safety performance.
- Provide leadership and guidance for behavior-based safety programs, risk assessments, non-routine task evaluations, and HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to ensure sustainable resolution.
- Coordinate and manage workers' compensation cases in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, develop, and communicate HSE best practices and drive consistent implementation across field operations.
- Deliver training, coaching, and support to strengthen HSE awareness, accountability, and leadership at all levels of the organization.
- Develop and maintain site-specific safety plans that align with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
- Partner with operational leaders, field teams, customers, and other stakeholders to proactively identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate HSE performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support safety culture transformation initiatives and serve as a regional HSE subject matter expert.
- Complete department administrative responsibilities and reporting requirements as assigned.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and HSE experience.
- Ability to influence, engage, and build relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other business software applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities with a results-driven approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience.
- Experience supporting industrial services, manufacturing, construction, mining, metals, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHA certifications, or similar credentials.
- Demonstrated success influencing positive safety culture change and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a regular basis.
- Frequently required to walk, write, and use a computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs and occasionally bend, carry, reach, push, and pull.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- May work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- May be exposed to industrial environments with elevated temperatures, cold conditions, noise, dust, and concrete work surfaces.
- Must be able to operate a computer and standard business technology.
Travel
This role supports field operations across North America. Travel to operational sites, customer locations, meetings, and training events is required based on business needs.
