Job description

WHO WE ARE:

Zinnia is the leading technology platform for accelerating life and annuities growth. With innovative enterprise solutions and data insights, Zinnia simplifies the experience of buying, selling, and administering insurance products. All of which enables more people to protect their financial futures. Our success is driven by a commitment to three core values: be bold, team up, deliver value – and that we do. Zinnia has over $180 billion in assets under administration, serves 100+ carrier clients, 2500 distributors and partners, and over 2 million policyholders.

WHO YOU ARE:

Our Case Management team facilitates a seamless client experience through the underwriting process for all life insurance applicants. Supported by advanced technology platforms, internal counterparts, outside vendors, and, of course, insurance carriers themselves, the team ensures that there are no bumps in the road throughout the process from submission of initial application to placement.

Individuals who reside in Alaska, California, Colorado, Montana, New York, Nevada, and Rhode Island are not eligible for this remote role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Own and manage an individual caseload of in-process life insurance applications, beginning with creating and sending the application to the client and continuing through underwriting in-force
  • Request and obtain underwriting requirements from the client and take initiative to review underwriting decisions to determine if better options exist for our customers
  • Master all carrier workflows, application and underwriting processes, and software systems necessary to carry out your responsibilities
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects with other operations teams (sales, customer service, customer success, and quality assurance) to ensure a seamless and transparent customer experience and improve our processes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Willingness to obtain a life insurance license
  • 1+ years’ work experience in life insurance case management
  • A customer-centered mindset -- motivated by solving problems for customers and your team
  • Strong communication skills and effective listening skills with an attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to provide and receive actionable feedback that will help drive efficiency and best-in-class customer experience
  • You can organize and prioritize your workload to ensure each case is processed, issued, and placed in a timely manner
  • A teamwork mindset, you take ownership of your work AND your team's success
  • You communicate consistently, precisely, and professionally in both verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders and clients
  • You have superb attention to detail, a positive attitude, effective problem-solving skills and passion for helping clients

BONUS POINTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A life insurance agent or broker license
