Job description

US Recruitment Business Development Manager / 360 Recruiter

Working Hours: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm UK time
Market: United States, ideally with experience in Texas
Location: Remote from South Africa

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven US Recruitment Business Development Manager / 360 Recruiter to help grow our presence in the US market.

This is a sales-led recruitment role for someone with a proven track record of winning recruitment business in the United States. You may currently be working as a 360 Recruiter, Recruitment Consultant, or Business Development Manager within a recruitment agency.

The key requirement is simple: you know how to win genuine recruitment opportunities in the US market and can demonstrate results.

You will take ownership of developing new client relationships, generating vacancies and growing accounts, while also providing account management coverage during US business hours.

Our existing recruitment team can support candidate sourcing and delivery, allowing you to focus heavily on business development, client relationships and successfully managing recruitment processes.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for developing and growing our US recruitment business, including:

  • Identifying and approaching prospective clients across the US, with a particular interest in candidates who already understand the Texas market.

  • Generating meetings with Heads of Talent, CTOs, Engineering Directors, hiring managers, and other relevant decision-makers.

  • Converting conversations and meetings into new clients, live vacancies and genuine recruitment opportunities.

  • Selling permanent and/or contract recruitment services to US organisations.

  • Building strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Understanding clients' hiring requirements and managing recruitment processes from vacancy through to placement.

  • Working closely with our recruitment delivery team, who can support candidate sourcing.

  • Helping manage candidates through interview processes, offers and onboarding.

  • Providing responsive client and candidate support throughout US business hours.

  • Developing existing accounts to generate repeat vacancies and additional recruitment opportunities.

  • Maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospects, opportunities, and active clients.

What We're Looking For

The most important requirement is proven success selling recruitment services into the US market.

Ideally, you will have:

  • At least 1 year's experience selling recruitment services into the US, although several years' experience would be highly desirable.

  • Experience selling permanent and/or contract recruitment solutions.

  • A demonstrable track record of winning new recruitment clients and generating vacancies.

  • Evidence that your business development activity has resulted in meaningful revenue opportunities — not simply meetings or introductory conversations.

  • Experience engaging senior decision-makers such as Heads of Talent, CTOs, Engineering Directors and hiring managers.

  • Strong outbound business development and new-business skills.

  • Good account management and relationship-building capabilities.

  • The ability to manage recruitment processes involving both clients and candidates.

  • The confidence and commercial awareness to develop relationships from initial prospecting through to becoming established recruitment accounts.

  • The ability and willingness to work 2:00 pm–10:00 pm UK time on an ongoing basis.

Experience developing recruitment business in Texas would be particularly attractive.

Recruitment Experience Matters

We are specifically looking for someone who understands how to sell agency recruitment services into US companies.

Candidates whose background is predominantly selling offshore consultancy, outsourcing or similar services are unlikely to be the right fit unless they can also demonstrate significant success selling permanent or contract recruitment services.

We want someone who understands the recruitment agency proposition, knows what a genuine hiring opportunity looks like, and has experience converting prospects into clients and vacancies.

What Success Looks Like

This isn't a role where success is measured purely by activity or the number of meetings booked.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a consistent ability to turn business development activity into:

New clients → Live vacancies → Recruitment processes → Placements → Repeat business

You should be comfortable discussing specific examples of accounts you have won, vacancies you have generated, and the commercial results you have achieved within the US recruitment market.
