Business Development Manager

St. Onge Company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to help accelerate our continued growth as a leader in supply chain, logistics, and material handling consulting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organization that partners with some of the world's most recognized brands to design and optimize supply chains, distribution networks, warehouses, and fulfillment operations.

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in identifying new business opportunities, building executive-level relationships, and connecting organizations with the innovative solutions and expertise that St. Onge delivers. You'll work closely with a talented team of business development professionals, consultants, and industry experts to develop strategic partnerships and generate new consulting engagements across multiple industries.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow St. Onge's consulting services.
  • Identify and pursue organizations with annual revenues exceeding $200 million.
  • Research and target companies across key industry verticals, including: 
    • Food & Beverage
    • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
    • Retail & eCommerce
    • Life Sciences
    • Healthcare Retail & Wholesale
    • Military & Government
    • Industrial Manufacturing
    • Automotive Parts Distribution
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with VP-level and C-suite decision-makers.
  • Schedule and conduct introductory meetings via phone, video conference, and in person.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and business development activities.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with the Director and VP of Business Development.
  • Represent St. Onge at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows.
  • Develop and execute strategies to penetrate targeted markets, regions, and accounts.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting of opportunities and business development activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor while ethically and professionally representing the St. Onge brand.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

  • 8-10 years of inside sales experience selling professional services.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing a Business Development team.
  • Proven success identifying, developing, and closing opportunities related to supply chain, logistics, material handling, or related consulting services.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence executive-level decision-makers.
  • Experience building strategic networks and long-term client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain operations and material handling technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and build consensus among stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Work Environment & Travel

St. Onge offers both remote and hybrid work options. While this position is primarily office-based, occasional visits to client facilities are required. Client environments may include warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and other operational settings.

Travel is estimated at 10-15% annually, with increased travel during trade show seasons and key client engagements. Travel may include regional and national business trips with occasional overnight stays.
