Junior Java Developer

Razor is seeking a Junior Java Developer to support the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications. This position offers an early-career developer the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with Java-based applications, collaborate with senior developers, and contribute to software solutions in an Agile environment.

Clearance Requirements

- Must be able to obtain a VA Medium Background Investigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java-based applications under the guidance of senior developers.

• Analyze customer requirements and assist in developing software solutions that align with existing system architecture and operating environments.

• Write, debug, and enhance software code for new and existing applications.

• Support application troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing enhancements.

• Work with REST and SOAP web services, relational databases, and associated application technologies.

• Participate in Agile development activities, software testing, and code reviews.

• Collaborate with senior developers and technical teams on application design and delivery.

• Develop and maintain software documentation.

• Support development activities across Windows and web-based environments.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of professional Java development experience.

• Understanding of object-oriented programming, software development fundamentals, and system architecture.

• Experience developing, testing, debugging, deploying, or supporting Java-based applications.

• Experience with some of the following technologies: Spring, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, Oracle, SQL, WebLogic, JPA/Hibernate, or Java EE.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

• Understanding of relational database management systems.

• Ability to analyze technical requirements, troubleshoot application issues, and develop effective software solutions.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with service-oriented architecture concepts and enabling technologies.

• Experience with rule engines and Business Process Management (BPM) engines.

• Experience with Rational Tool Suite.
