Ireland based leading software engineering company delivering innovative, AI-powered platforms for global clients.

About the Job:


• Design scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems in Python and Node.js for AI orchestration and data workflows.
• Take models and agents to production. This covers prompt design and versioning, guardrails, evals, tracing and observability, and latency and cost optimization. Build robust data pipelines that feed retrieval, embeddings, and evaluation workflows.
• Design and implement React applications in TypeScript with modern state management. Run services on Kubernetes. 
• Handle containerization, Helm, CI/CD, autoscaling, secrets management, and monitoring, and will share on-call.
• Make and document architectural decisions with clear tradeoffs around performance, cost, reliability, and maintainability.
• Raise the engineering bar through thorough code reviews, testing, performance profiling, documentation, and mentoring.
• Work closely with product, QA, and infrastructure teams to turn requirements into reliable, measurable features.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with products you've shipped and maintained in production.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong command of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis, and the judgment to apply them to real problems.

• A solid understanding of operating system and networking basics: processes, threads, memory, I/O, HTTP, TCP/IP, and DNS.

• Strong system design skills: scalable, fault-tolerant, maintainable architectures with clear service boundaries.

• Clean, well-structured code following SOLID principles, with sound design patterns and sensible abstractions.
• API design experience (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC), including contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Database fundamentals: data modeling, normalization, indexing, transactions, isolation levels, query optimization, and migrations.
• A strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and code designed to be testable.
• Strong debugging and performance skills: profiling, finding bottlenecks, and fixing memory, latency, and scaling problems.

Regarding Technology:

• Python as a primary language, used deeply in production.

• Idiomatic, well-typed code with type hints and mypy or pyright.

• Async programming with asyncio, and knowing when to reach for threads, processes, or async.

• FastAPI or similar frameworks, and Pydantic for data validation.

• Hands-on experience on applied AI and LLM engineering
• Kubernetes in production: Helm or Kustomize, Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, Ingress, service mesh basics, and logging and metrics with Prometheus/Grafana.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and strong Docker practices.
