Job Description

The Senior Data Governance Analyst drives the successful implementation and adoption of data governance practices by ensuring the quality, integrity, availability, and operational readiness of critical business data. The role partners across business and technology teams to identify and resolve data issues, lead governance and reference data initiatives, improve business processes, and enable informed decision-making through effective stewardship, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position serves as a trusted advisor who balances governance standards with business needs, proactively mitigates data risks, facilitates organizational alignment, and champions continuous improvement to ensure data remains a reliable strategic asset. The role also provides leadership through issue management, business continuity support, stakeholder education, and influence across teams to drive sustainable data management outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead data governance, master and reference data initiatives that improve data quality and operational effectiveness.
• Identify, assess, and resolve data-related issues and risks that could impact business operations.
• Partner with business and technology teams to ensure data changes are validated and operationally ready before deployment.
• Facilitate stakeholder understanding of data processes, calculations, standards, and governance practices.
• Develop and maintain mechanisms for tracking issues, risks, decisions, and improvement opportunities.
• Support business continuity through collaborative problem-solving and delivery of practical data solutions.
• Influence organizational adoption of governance practices through communication, education, and relationship building.

Qualifications

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must reside in and be permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. This includes, but is not limited to, OPT, CPT, and H-1B visa holders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving complex data issues that impact business operations.
• Deep understanding of Data Governance principles, frameworks, policies, standards, and stewardship practices.
• Knowledge of Reference Data Management (RDM), Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, and data quality disciplines.
• Understanding of business processes and the operational impact of data across research, breeding, product development, or related business domains.
• Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data controls, governance workflows, and approval processes.
• Knowledge of change management and stakeholder communication practices that drive adoption of governance solutions.
• Understanding of business validation, testing, and operational readiness processes required for successful data implementations.
• Experience leading data governance, reference data, metadata, or data quality initiatives in a complex business environment.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams across business, technology, and data domains to deliver governance outcomes.
• Experience facilitating workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder discussions to improve understanding and adoption of governance practices.
• Experience supporting business continuity through data issue resolution, risk mitigation, and operational problem solving.
• Experience translating technical data concepts into business-friendly language for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience managing competing priorities across multiple governance initiatives and stakeholders.

Additional Information

Salary range for this role is $114,100 - 211,900 per year
