Job description

The Database Architect Lead Engineer serves as the technical lead responsible for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise data architectures supporting modern web-based software applications. This role leads database design, data modeling, integration, performance optimization, and data governance activities supporting front-end web application development.

A sample of duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead enterprise database architecture and design activities.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models and ERDs.
  • Design relational and non-relational database solutions.
  • Develop tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, and data integration processes.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to support APIs, services, and front-end web application pages.
  • Optimize application performance through efficient database design and query tuning.
  • Implement security controls, auditing, encryption, and role-based access controls.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architecture oversight.
  • Data architecture and data modeling methodologies.
  • Advanced SQL and database optimization.
  • API and application integration patterns.
  • Agile software development methodologies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline. Additional experience may be substituted where permitted.

Experience

  • 10+ years supporting database architecture, data engineering, or software development, including 5+ years leading enterprise data modeling and database design efforts.
