This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scope: 

The Associate Engineer uses technical expertise and extreme attention to detail to complete all assignments. Always ensures the highest level of craftsmanship and quality are maintained. Works closely with Ram Team Engineer to complete projects, prototypes, fabricating, and installing equipment and infrastructure for production facilities. This individual will cover the full spectrum, from drawing and design to fabrication to installation. Yes, you will bring your projects to life! 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Draw and design using CAD.
• Assist RAM Engineer and Project Managers with leading projects. 
• Running manual and CNC machines, to include mill, plasma cutter, laser engraver, lathe, lifts, etc. 
• Set up machines and inspect components while maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality workmanship.
• Lead fabrication projects to support equipment repairs and new projects.
• Help lead Installation of industrial equipment. Rigging experience is a plus! Must be very hands on.
• Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of work.
• Aid in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of equipment in the entire plant.
• Conducts him/herself to the highest professional standards of quality and craftsmanship.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and ensure machine tools are properly maintained and in good working condition.
• All other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience inside manufacturing facility.
• Must have experience with drawing and design programs, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion, inventor, etc. 
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude and engineering mind set. 
• Ability to read and decipher schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, general assembly drawings and P&ID drawings. 
• Ability to use mechanical and digital measuring instruments with extreme precision and accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of physics, mechanics, geometry, and basic mathematics. Machining and technical experience a plus. 
• Familiarity with equipment typically found in a manufacturing setting, including pumps, valves, motors, gear boxes, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
• 2- or 4-year Engineering degree a big plus! 
• Must be able to work in high elevation: Can't be afraid of heights.
• Must be able to work in challenging environments: Cold, hot, dusty, windy, load confined spaces, etc.
• Must have ability to effectively communicate in English both written and verbally.
• Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills.
• Must have strong critical thinking and technical troubleshooting abilities.
• High sense of urgency and customer support.
• Must have good job performance and attendance records. 
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid US passport.
• Must be able to travel.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. 
• Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekends.
• Must possess visual acuity to document company records.
• Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
• Lifting up to 75 pounds.
