Mechanical Engineer

This is a remote position.

Playing a key quality and technical verification role in an engineering production environment, this 3-month remote contract position supports operational accuracy through compilation and review of critical technical documentation. Ensure that manufactured components and supplier deliverables strictly align with engineering drawings, geometric tolerances, and compliance standards.

Working full-time remote, with flexible working hours between 08:00 and 16:30 (with some flexibility), this position involves analysing bills of materials, supplier documentation, and physical measurement reports.

Running until December 2026, this contract role requires a professional engineer or current engineering student with a strong eye for detail, a systems-thinking approach, and practical problem-solving capabilities to verify assembly integrity and support component approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
  

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, including the definition and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  

• Analyse and understand Bills of Materials (BOM) listing parts used in assembly.
  

• Cross-reference and match BOM parts with delivery notes and supplier Certificates of Conformity (COC).
  

• Review and match measurement reports provided by internal measurement departments.
  

• Apply systems thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve technical documentation discrepancies.
  

Requirements

• Mechanical engineering background or qualification (engineering students are eligible).
  

• Proven ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  

• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  

• Ability to understand and interpret Bills of Materials (BOM).
  

• Demonstrated eye for detail, systems-thinking approach, and problem-solving capabilities.
  

Desirable Requirements

• Prior experience compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
  

• Experience matching delivery notes and Certificates of Conformity (COC) against BOMs.
