Role Summary: At The Gunter Group, you’ll learn consulting by doing it. This is a unique opportunity for exceptionally high performers who are serious about building a long-term career in consulting. At The Gunter Group, we are a people-first management consulting firm and proud 20-time workplace award winner. We build trusted partnerships with our clients by working alongside their teams. Together, we deliver practical solutions and lasting impact across strategy, execution, people, and technology. The Consulting Accelerator Program

As a Consulting Accelerator Program participant, you'll step into a full-time consulting role at TGG with six months of structured development built in. You’ll work closely with experienced consulting leaders while contributing to client delivery, proposal development, and internal initiatives. You’ll also participate in targeted professional development and learning opportunities designed to build the practical skills and judgment needed to succeed as a consultant. Throughout the program, you’ll receive dedicated mentorship and direct access to leaders across the firm, giving you a firsthand view of how TGG operates as a business and provides exceptional consulting services. Our goal is to prepare you to operate independently as a consultant and confidently take ownership of client work. We’re a growing firm, and your development is part of ours.

Client Work

  • Contribute to live client engagements through research, analysis, and the preparation of decks, models, reports, and other client-ready materials
  • Turn ambiguous, incomplete information into clear, structured outputs that leaders can bring directly to clients
  • Progress from behind-the-scenes delivery support toward leading client discussions and presenting your own recommendations, as your skills and confidence grow

Firm Experience

  • Receive regular coaching and feedback from leaders across the firm through a development approach personalized to you
  • Learn firsthand how leaders at TGG build client relationships, grow accounts, and lead engagements by supporting their work directly
  • Support business development and proposal work, learning how TGG wins and grows client relationships
  • Participate in Consulting Capability Deep Dives with firm leaders through structured sessions connecting you to TGG's point of view and approach across the full range of our work
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and firm-building work alongside your client responsibilities

Your Development Path

Phase 1: Build Your Foundation

Focus on onboarding, early relationship-building with the leaders you support, and consulting capability fundamentals that ground you in TGG's approach across the full range of our work

Phase 2: Expand Your Experience

Take on more direct delivery responsibility for the leaders you support, contributing to proposal development and TGG deliverables as your client workload grows

Phase 3: Increase Your Impact

Extend your support to additional leaders and engagements as your consulting capabilities grow. This broader experience will prepare you to take on independent consulting responsibilities and eventually lead client engagements of your own.

What You Bring

This is a highly selective opportunity for people who are committed to building a long-term career in consulting at TGG. The strongest candidates bring a longstanding record of leadership and excellence across their academic and professional pursuits.

You may be a strong fit if your background includes one or more of the following:

  • Military experience in an operational leadership capacity, with a track record of leading teams, navigating complex environments, and owning organizational outcomes
  • A bachelor’s degree paired with strong academic performance, meaningful leadership experience, and a demonstrated record of initiative
  • An MBA in progress or recently completed, paired with early-career professional or leadership experience, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, and a clear intention to transition into consulting
  • Early professional experience in a corporate, technical, or functional role, demonstrating high performance, independent ownership, and the desire to accelerate into a new career path

Beyond your background, you'll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn new industries, technologies, and client contexts quickly
  • Initiative and ownership, looking for opportunities to contribute rather than waiting to be assigned
  • Comfort balancing several types of work, including client delivery, business development, and internal initiatives, while maintaining quality and follow-through
  • The ability to turn ambiguous, incomplete information into clear, structured outputs and communicate your thinking effectively to different audiences
  • Openness to coaching and feedback, with the ability to adjust quickly based on it
