Software Engineer
MyEmployment builds consent-based employment and income verification. Employees approve or deny every release of their own data. You would work on the backend services that make that possible.
About the role
You will build and maintain the backend services behind the verification platform: APIs used by verification providers and employer systems, integrations with employer payroll and HR platforms, data normalization services, authentication and authorization workflows, and the event processing that moves verification requests and responses. You will work alongside senior engineers and report to the Director of Technology Solutions. This is a role with access to sensitive employment and income data. We hold that access to a high standard and so should you.
What you will do
• Build backend services in C# and .NET Core
• Build and maintain REST APIs consumed by verification providers and employer systems
• Integrate with employer payroll platforms and HR systems
• Normalize employment and payroll data across inconsistent source formats
• Support authentication and authorization workflows for employees and employers
• Build event processing for verification requests and responses
• Review code, work in Agile cycles, and troubleshoot production issues
Requirements
What we look for
• Three or more years building production software
• Working depth in C#, .NET Core, REST APIs, JSON, and relational databases
• Experience integrating with third-party or enterprise systems, and the judgment to handle a partner API that returns bad data
• Comfort in cloud environments and modern Git workflows
• Preferred: Microsoft Azure, enterprise SaaS integration work, secure coding and data protection practices

• Every interview is conducted on camera with at least two MyEmployment team members present.
• Before any technical assessment is sent, candidates complete a live identity verification: government-issued ID on camera, matched to the person on the call.
• Technical assessments are proctored. Third-party assistance during any interview or assessment ends candidacy.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and must perform the work from a verified United States residence. Equipment ships to that address. We do not ship to mail drops or forwarding services.
