Nordhealth Therapy is consolidating three market-leading regional PMS brands — Diarium in Finland, Physica and Psykbase in Norway, Terapeut Booking in Denmark — onto one unified practice-management platform for physiotherapists, psychologists, and rehab clinics.

About the role

As Engineering Manager for Platform Engineering, you'll own the platform that keeps engineering and product moving — infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, the security posture protecting it, and the tooling and workflows that shape how engineers ship. You'll manage a team of 6-8 engineers while working closely with software engineering and product teams.

This is a hands-on role. You'll own architectural decisions, review infrastructure code, participate in 24/7 on-call duties, and stay close to production operations. On this team, experienced engineers own their domains. Your job is to set direction, remove blockers, and create the conditions for good decisions! 🚀

Your key responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and operate infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments: networking, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cost management

• Own code deployment pipelines and automation, including feature flag systems and progressive delivery

• Define and maintain monitoring standards: logging, metrics, and alerting

• Set service levels, lead incident response and management

• Participate in 24/7 on-call duties as an engineer

• Own the platform's security framework: vulnerability management, patching, and framework/dependency upgrades

• Ensure adherence to compliance programs: audit logging, data residency, access controls

• Shape developer experience — internal tooling, self-service workflows, and paved paths that let engineers ship faster and safely

• Partner with software engineering and product — surface constraints early, align on priorities, keep delivery moving

• Own hiring for your team: justify role needs, run and calibrate interviews, and make the final call on offers

• Run a real performance review cycle: set clear expectations, give regular feedback, and deliver formal reviews with full ownership of ratings and outcomes, including managing underperformance when needed

• Build career development paths for each engineer — growth plans, promotion cases, and mentorship tailored to where they want to go

• Give your engineers ownership over their domains and the autonomy to make decisions

What will help you to be successful in this role?

Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company. In addition, our humble wishlist includes:

• Experience as both an engineer and a people manager, or have been a staff engineer mentoring people — you've done both and do both well

• Hands-on platform engineering or DevOps experience at production scale: CI/CD, cloud services, monitoring, infrastructure-as-code

• Experience owning reliability in production: on-call, incident response, SLO management

• Experience improving developer experience — internal tooling, self-service platforms, or paved paths

• 3+ years managing engineers directly, with full ownership of hiring, performance, and career development

• A collaborative working style — you build trust through partnership, not control

Bonus skills and experience (optional)

• Experience with network engineering and DNS administration

• Experience with feature flag based deployments

• Security engineering background: vulnerability management, framework/dependency upgrade programs

• Previous engagements in regulated industries
