Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level subject matter expertise and technical advice to address inquiries and action items from ERSC and Risk IPT members
  • Analyze current TSA ERM processes, recommend continuous improvements, and coordinate the implementation of approved processes
  • Lead the development of critical risk frameworks, including risk appetites, risk tolerances, key risk indicators (KRIs), and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Direct and conduct individual interviews with TSA SMEs to review root causes of enterprise risks, assess impact/likelihood, and develop risk response actions
  • Support the drafting and finalization of high-visibility Congressional reporting, such as the Risk-Based Priorities Report and the Surface Transportation semiannual report

Work Location and On-Site/Telework Requirements: All services shall be provided on-site at the Government’s facilities located at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 6595 Springfield Center Drive, Springfield, VA 20598

Clearance: Must be eligible to successfully pass a Federal background investigation/suitability determination

Role Overview:

The ERM Subject Matter Expert (SME) leads the technical risk management approach, driving the maturation of TSA’s ERM program. This role provides strategic guidance, conducts advanced risk analyses, and advises the Executive Risk Steering Committee (ERSC) and Risk Assessments Integrated Process Team (IPT).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in enterprise risk management, including federal or large organizational contexts.
  • Certifications: RIMS-CRMP, CRM, CRMA, CIA, or preferred equivalent. Certifications must be current and recognized by federal agencies.
  • Skills: Proficient in risk management software and Microsoft Office; strong knowledge of federal ERM practices and OMB A-123.
