Pearl Insurance is seeking a Policy Review Specialist to join our growing team!

The Policy Review Specialist is responsible for retaining policyholders and improving overall retention of customer base, with a focus on policyholder renewals and book rolls.  Meets established retention targets and other quality of business factors. Establishes customer rapport through mutual trust and respect.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Places outbound calls to customers within specified timeframe before renewal date for re-quote. 

  • Contacts relate to upcoming policy renewals and targeted book roll activities. 

  • Reviews and analyzes reports and other data to monitor progress towards stated goals. 

  • Analyzes the customer’s current insurance coverage and suggests additions or changes to retain and grow existing customer base. 

  • Maximizes opportunities to upgrade and/or cross-sell additional products and consistently asks for referrals to increase leads for the new business sales team. 

  • Efficiently and accurately calculates/presents quotes and writes insurance applications. 

  • Works knowledgably within carrier underwriting guidelines and effectively presents risks for consideration that fall outside of guidelines.   

  • Tracks quote activity and generates periodic reports for manager summarizing results. 

  • Responsible for meeting individual retention and quality of business targets.

  • Fosters positive relationships with carrier contacts. 

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Current NYS Property & Casualty or Personal Lines license

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • Associates degree and 2+ years’ experience in customer service and/or sales, preferably in the insurance industry

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate by phone

  • Superior listening skills and ability to probe customer needs and opportunities through question-based selling and retention techniques

  • Self-directed with good decision making and time management skills

  • Proficient PC skills, knowledge of insurance administration software (preferred)

Pay Range

$21.00 - $21.63 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
