One80 Intermediaries is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team in Newtown Square, PA!   

We are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our team in a hybrid role based out of Newtown Square, PA. The Underwriter Assistant is responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining appropriate coverage terms and pricing. This position involves analyzing applicant information, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will help maintain the financial soundness of our insurance portfolio while providing excellent service to agents and clients. 

How You Will Contribute:   

  • Scan/Save policy materials within the share drive, Employer Stop Loss (ESL). 

  • Enter and/or research information into the ESL/DY system. 

  • Ensure complete and accurate data is entered in ESL/DY to support data collection and evaluation. 

  • Uses knowledge and independent judgment to determine eligibility of risks when compared to guidelines of programs available. 

  • Support the Underwriter in managing daily workflow, administrative, and clerical functions. 

Skills & Experience to be Successful:  

  •  Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 1 year work experience, preferably in the insurance industry. 

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices.
