Vice President, Corporate Communications

Position Overview

The Vice President, Corporate Communications is senior leadership role at Mineralys and is responsible for developing and executing Mineralys' comprehensive corporate communications strategy.

Mineralys is moving from a clinical-stage to a commercial-stage company. Commercial launch is a defining near-term milestone, but the mandate extends well beyond it: establishing a durable corporate narrative, building the internal communications infrastructure a growing organization requires, and positioning Mineralys with media, healthcare stakeholders, employees, and the financial community over the long term.

The role partners closely with the Executive Team, functional leaders, and Investor Relations to align communication strategy with corporate objectives.  The individual will serves as a strategic advisor across the organization on how Mineralys communicates internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Communications Strategy

  • Own the enterprise communications strategy, spanning external and internal audiences, and align it to corporate objectives and launch readiness milestones.
  • Define the Mineralys corporate narrative and core messaging platform, and ensure it is applied consistently across every audience and channel.
  • Establish the communications operating model, including planning calendars, message review and approval pathways, spokesperson protocols, and escalation and crisis procedures.
  • Set measures of effectiveness for communications and report on outcomes to the Executive Team.

Corporate Communications and Public Relations

  • Oversee the creation of all external communications, including press releases, media statements and corporate messaging campaigns.
  • Build and manage relationships with key healthcare, trade, and financial media; serve as a company spokesperson and prepare and coach executives for media interactions.
  • Lead communications for all significant corporate milestones, including clinical data readouts, regulatory submissions and approvals, launch announcements, business development activity, and commercial progress.
  • Lead issues management and crisis communications, including preparedness planning, rapid response, and executive counsel under pressure.

Brand, Digital, and Corporate Identity

  • Own the corporate brand: identity, visual standards, voice, and tone, and ensure disciplined application across all internal and external materials.
  • Partner with Commercial team to ensure the corporate brand and product brand reinforce one another while remaining appropriately distinct.
  • Own the company's digital presence, including the corporate website, social media channels, and other digital platforms, along with the governance that supports them.

Internal Communications and Employee Engagement

  • Build the internal communications function, including channels, cadence, and standards, for an organization that is growing quickly and operating across headquarters, field, and remote employees.
  • Partner with the Executive Team on leadership communications, all-hands meetings, organizational announcements, and change communications.
  • Partner with HR on culture, employee engagement, onboarding, and manager communications capability.
  • Ensure employees understand company strategy, priorities, and progress, and that internal and external messaging are consistent.

Commercial Launch and Beyond

  • Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Market Access to develop and execute communications that support product launch, including healthcare professional outreach, disease education, patient communications, and advocacy engagement.
  • Build the post-launch communications plan that sustains awareness, reputation, and stakeholder engagement as the company moves into ongoing commercial operations.

Investor Relations Support

  • Partner with Investor Relations and Finance to ensure consistency between corporate messaging and financial communications, including earnings materials, investor presentations, and conference participation.
  • Contribute to investor relations activities as needed.

Building and Leading the Function

  • Operate as a hands-on leader initially, personally producing high-quality work while establishing the function.
  • Define the structure, roles, sequencing, and budget for the communications team, and hire and develop that team as the company scales.
  • Select and manage external agencies and vendors, and hold them accountable to clear scope, quality, and cost expectations.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Executive Team and participate in key organizational decision-making.
  • Ensure all communications activities comply with SEC regulations, FDA guidelines, and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 15+ years of progressive corporate communications experience, with substantial experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of building a communications function, ideally as the first or sole senior communications leader in an organization.

  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, including clinical data disclosure, regulatory milestones, and product launch.
  • Familiarity with the biotech investor and healthcare media landscape.
  • Demonstrated internal communications and change communications capability in a fast-growing organization.
  • Proven issues and crisis management experience, including advising executives in high-stakes situations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; a strategic storyteller who can translate complex scientific and financial information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • A player-coach who is comfortable operating without infrastructure and building it while delivering.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; track record of working closely with Finance, Legal, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.
